Awesome! Thank you for posting this. I have ties to Iowa, and I don't mind saying that Iowegians (as a generalization) are definitely some of the most honest, down to earth people I know. How refreshing to read something like this, no matter the context or implications it does or does not have. Every step in the right direction is a very good one.

Great that you love Iowa. I completed my BS in Management Information Systems at Iowa State!

Go Hawkeyes! ;)

University of Iowa is a great school too. I got in to University of Wisconsin, Texas A&M, Arizona State, and Iowa State for a double major, Electrical Engineering and MIS. I went to Iowa State after visiting all of the schools b/c it was the smallest and had the best feel to it. No matter where you are accepted, you are going for one reason. To graduate. I worked for several companies in the ISU Research Park, and then started my own ISP. When I shut down the ISP 3yrs later, I went back and decided to just do the 5 courses to get the MIS degree.

Just as a follow up I received a personal response (not a form letter) from Geoff Greenwood. He thanked me and said that AG Miller read my comments and appreciated the kind words.

I believe there may be a different breed of politician in Iowa, they are in touch with their community and value their health.

Similar to GA! My response also wasn't a form letter, and actually pertained in a very positive way to my comments to my Congressman.

I think it's just the same phenomenon as one sees with cops -- some cops are doing good work, trying their damndest to actually protect and serve. Some cops are just control-freak bullies with guns. Some localities have good police forces and fair courts; some localities are just speed traps, trying to make more filthy lucre for whoever's got their hand in the jar.

Just fired off a 'You Sir Are My Hero' email to this fine fellow. And promised my vote if he should want to run for President.:)

Just received an email response to my email

"
Thank you for your email. Attorney General Miller has read your comments and appreciates the kind words (and, by the way, has no plans to run for President).

Best regards,

It's absolutely stunning, the inconsistency in opinion from state to state. Our AG here in Indiana has been one of the strongest voices in our state opposing vaping. I'd love to see these two men put in a room together to discuss this topic.

It wouldn't do any good. You can't reason with stupidity.

It is a glaring example though on how this country is split and the difference in opinion between these two men has to only further confuse those who don't know a thing about vaping.

wow! not what I would expect from this guy
But it is nice maybe CASSA should send this guy some love mail and get him on board to leave vaping alone
Not CASAA, but I sent his communications guy an email letter:

Mr. Greenwood:

Just a brief note to acknowledge and express deep appreciation to General Miller for his public stance on e-cigarettes. After smoking conventional cigarettes for over 40 years and trying every conceivable cessation method, e-cigarettes enabled me to quit and I haven't smoked a cancer stick in almost four years.

General Miller should know that his refreshingly enlightened position on this issue is noticed and applauded by vapers nationwide and, in particular, HERE on the ECF. I hope General Miller is able to influence his colleagues in other states to adopt equally intelligent positions.

@Newbz started a thread about an article in the Des Moines Register about AG Miller's stance on e-cigs/vaping and posted images from the hard copy of the paper. Here's the article on the Register's website.

Thanks for the shout out. ;) I typically don't purchase the DSM Register, but I thought it was important for people from other parts of the country to see that activism matters and if enough of us speak out, common sense can and will prevail. Color me an optimist but some things just make sense. Vaping is better than smoking. Anyone who says otherwise at this point has an agenda, and you have to wonder who is funding those ideas. Never been one for conspiracy theories, but on this topic, I think it's more a question of follow the money. Who benefits the most from the vaping industry failing?

On the shoutout, give props where they is due. ;)

Plenty of opinions in this section about the anti-vaping crusade, but the common theme: It's about the money/follow the money.
Who benefits the most? certainly not us.
