I dont know but I will say my vendor is not doing anymore pre orders for this mod. They are in stock and all the pre orders have shipped out already. Elev8 is still doing pre orders while others have them in stock. The same thing happened with the cana mods.
What also makes me believe this is that the cupon code keeps coming down as if p4y is looking and they are trying to sneek it in. The warranty thing was another story cause I inquired with p4y 2x's and got 2 different answers. How one vendor does the pre order and follows the pricing guidelines and all mods pre ordered are shipped and another does not and we have delays makes me wonder. For the sake of all the people waiting for their mod I hope I am wrong and shipping is not delayed. This info was also told to me when I placed my pre order on 6/26 but I did not want to say anything until I saw how everything played out.... as far as inaccuracy I think my vendor was spot on with everything he has told us during this pre order.
For me to pay full msrp which was only like $28 more is no big deal since I have my mod In hand and did not experience any issues with my pre order like others are. Matter of fact it went so good I am on a wait list for his next pre order for the 100 watt dual 18650 battery sigelie box mod. I dont want to start a dispute here. My intent was to make folks aware of what I heard so people can understand and maybe be a little more patient... that is all.... sorry if I made any one mad or anything like that. This forum has helped me alot over the passed year and I figured the least I could do is give back
cheers
ANYONE WORRIED ABOUT YOUR ELEV8 ORDER READ THIS!
Just so you guys know, I ordered the IPV from elev8 and missed the 79$ deal. I inquired about getting it applied and was told "The code is usually on during the day time and off during the night time so just giving you a heads up in case you're interested in ordering again
". They also added something I requested to my order for free. It's not that there sneaking it in, it runs on a daytime only schedule. I am sure P4U is fully aware they are running it, as if it were against there policy they would stop shipments completely. Punishing a vendor doesn't make any sense at all from any perspective, and no one gains anything from it. Other vendors telling you a story about how they can't give you a $79 deal because they will be punished are lying, they literally cannot do so as they have not order a large enough quantity to sell it that cheap or do not want to, Larger orders = lower prices. It's easier to make themselves look good by giving others who provide more value a bad name. Read on how Chinese bulk ordering works, they is no set MSRP!
I have done ordering from china , and it always goes in volume. If you look on alibaba you can see P4U posting and contact them directly about bulk pricing. But if you wanna see what I'm talking about, search almost any electronics product there and you will see the prices are listed like this, ex. Price : $3.00-15.00. If you inquire with any sales person you will find if you order ten units, it is $15 each, if you order one hundred units, it is $10, one thousand units would be $5 and so on. The best example I could find was a ZNA30 clone, The minimum order was 1 piece with 50,000 a day capability and the price was US $10-60 / Piece ( FOB Price). 1 unit would be $60, it is not specified how to receive $10 but its likely over 5,000 units. FOB price means Free on board(freight on board), a price which includes goods plus the services of loading those goods onto some vehicle or vessel at a named location. Keep in mind that example is almost 100% a scam, as most companies on alibaba are but is a proof of pricing concept.
The manufacturers also provide there production capability, which on P4U/green leafs page for the IPV v2 is exactly - Supply Ability:10000 Set/Sets per Week. There supply can mean overall for all vendors they provide to(warehouse total production) or trailered to your maximum order(individual production max). It is usually tailored to what you need, so they are promising 10000 units per week to any vendor that needs that. There minimum order is 10 units, so an example would be 10 units for $85 each($850 + shipping, basically what eBay sellers do to make a quick 400 or so at 120 each), 5000 units for $40 each. These are theoretical prices based on the Chinese supplier business model, but they are prob not far off.
Considering people are posting with order numbers as low as the 5000's that I have seen and as high as almost 8000, that means P4U must have reviewed an order at least 3000-6000 units/sets from elev8(at $40 each x 5000 units that's $200,000, sold at $79 would return $395,000 not including units sold at $109, just a theoretical business model but over $200,000 profit when factoring in higher prices units that sold). Elev8 had a preorder for weeks at a reduced price to get reduced prices to provide it at a lower price. Chinese suppliers typically do not allow you to place orders without the full amount upfront, and need a several week lead time. It is most likely that elev8 placed a order for 3000-6000 units at the beginning of July or late June in cash and then ran there sale. If it seems unrealistic that they placed a $200,000 order keep in mind there are many investors that would back this for a percentage knowing the return is almost guaranteed, as long as they money transfer was secured(escrow or other means).
P4U prob promised all those units within a week of the 20th which is why they had/have a week lead time on there site, considering they advertise they ability to make 10000 units a week. It is not likely they are ordering this in small batches with your money, because they would not receive a large enough discount to sell the units at $79 and make any profit, let alone not lose money. In order to receive a large discount the order must be placed in full at once. Most other vendors are charging 100-109 because they are likely ordering by the hundred, which would prob give them the unit for about 75 after shipping costs. Elev8 is selling it for that price because they must have ordered a large a bough quantity to get a discounted rate around 40-50 after shipping.
This is based on experience with ordering products from Chinese vendors and reasonable profit. Anyone who tells you there being punished for discounting the price is lying. Major US manufacturers do makes there vendors stick to MSRP to avoid online shops from creating an unfair marketplace, it does not typically happen with Chinese MFGRs because they are out to sell bulk of everything, there business model is the more you buy, the more significant discount and the cheaper you sell - always!
As for elev8, I spoke with them and they told me they have 6 employees and there phones ring constantly all day, so it's not easy to get throw. They receive over 500 emails or more at any given day( this was as of 4 days ago) and they are doing there best to keep up. They were expecting(most likely promised) more units the. They have received and it is not in there hands. The second they are getting the units they are shipping them and they are hoping the shipments speed up so they can get the units out. I just wanted to give people a little more insight into my view and opinions based on what I have heard from them and my personal experiences with Chinese MFGRS, hoping maybe I can put some people at ease.
They have ordered your units and you will receive them, this is a new item and it's highly sought after, so everyday P4U will be sending more units and more frequently. There most likely dealing with a lot of new vendors so they have to at least ship units to other vendors besides Elev8 to keep a business relationship, but your unit is coming. elev8 did mention P4U is reliable so our units maybe here earlier. I was told 4 days ago my unit would be here in 2 weeks and my order number is #7463.
Please keep in mind all these numbers are just to explain how the process works and are in no way accurate.I would just hang in there everyone I am really excited too I'm upgrading from a MVP2!
EDIT: Here is there wholesale page so you can see what I am talking about, if you search any electronics you will see there prices in ranges, or to contact them
