Sorry I should have started a new thread on this.

No thank you for keeping it hear. Much easier to keep it in one place.

So the calling the version that everything works the PLUS version wow...
Can anyone say false advertising... come on even their own instruction booklet...

@tehdarkaura
This makes me wonder on the specs again is it really 9vdc like they have been telling us or is it more 12vdc and or they have been using a bad 9vdc plug thats actually outputting 12vdc.

frustrated with all this, Its a great regulated boxmod but should not of been this expensive if only have of the features works. If I didn't break the seal already I would be moved on returning or selling mine.

lol the Plus is for "PLUS, now everything we promised actually works" ;)

yeah it could be -- I kind of suspect that myself -- some brave soul out there want to try attaching a 12VDC center positive supply to this thing?

Seems like all of these high power units from all the different manufacturers are experiencing one sort of problem or another.

HD

Yeah and that is kind of expected, but I think if sigelei had a feature not working that they advertised they would have fixed it rather than selling it as an exclusive unit. I wonder how long before other suppliers get access to the "Plus" versions.

Yeah, this will most likely be the first and only device I ever purchase from P4U.

So, it sounds like the charge port works, but it is a matter of finding the proper charger?

Actually it sounds like they don't even understand their own product to me. IE meshing other peoples electronics together with out know the specific specs required.

For my first Box-Mod wow am I getting frustrated with this. I figured P4U has been around for a while and would be a safe bet to get. I walked into a local shop and they had 3 of these so splurged and picked one up. It works great as is but to much money for things now working

I mean I paid $165 for my unit that advertises build in charging and touch sensitivity
with no charger nor touch I would of been fine with the unit for $100 if it was advertised that way.
Again bait and switch, Makes me feel like they didn't have the money for production.. throw something out their with what they have to get the money to produce the right products. Not a good way to run a business and with all the ways to raise money.. i.e. they could of did a kickstarter to raise money for the first production down right.

I've read through most of this thread and when I get home tonight I will read the rest, however I bought charger for my IPV3. 9v 1A with the H connector. I plugged it in and I got the red LED light so I assumed it was working. However I left it charging last night overnight and it made absolutely no progress. My charger will go up to 12 volts, however do you guys think I should try it and see what happens or do you think it will cause damage?

I don't think it's that they didn't have the money, I simply think they rushed it and are trying to beat everybody else by getting their product out faster. and as for the touch sensor, I think it's more of a hazard than it is a feature. they received a lot of negative feedback with their IPV2 about the touch sensor self firing so maybe they simply disabled it since they had already produced the boxes for the IPV3 with the touch sensors in place

Hey buddy,

When you plugged it in did you wait a few seconds.
Our does light up green but turns off after like 5-10 seconds.
Did y yours stay on or did you not wait that long looking?

Well I understand that, But if you take features away you should lower the price.
As for the touch sensor some of use have cracked the seal and their there is nothing behind the touch sensor glass.. Litterly nothing their at all. So saying they disabled it is an understatement. I wouldn't of used it anyway but its stated on the packaging.

So if I understand this correct. The plus version is the only version that actually charges? I could care less about the touch sensor, as I turned it off within 5 minutes of opening my IPV2. All I care about is the charging capability. Although I don't mind using my external charger, it would just make it easier using a wall charger, instead of having to open the back everytime. Plus, if going to a friends or what not, I could just bring the cable instead of the external charger.

So, I have been reading this thread entirely and I am confused on one part. Will a firmware update fix the charging issue or is this something that is totally never going to work without a newer version of this product?
