That charger is on its way to me. Should be here on the 30th the tracking number says. I'll report back when it gets here and I test it out.

Yes I want to know if this one works and how long it takes to charge, compared to using a charger that I think would be faster. My biggest gripe is there is no pasthrough anyway on these. Guess you could buy a chip, parts and a box and build one for $100 but most people aren't doing it .For the price it does what they say it does without a cable...

For the price of the ipv3, building one doesn't make sense to me. This mod does what it does very well. No complaints at all. Is it a hassle taking out the screws to pull the batteries once a day? A little. But to me it's worth it. If I can balance charge the batteries in the mod overnight it would be killer, but it's not a deal breaker if not.

Question. I just put 2 brand new vtv5 in my ipv3 and marked them. Now, the battery life is down to about 50% and I'm going out of town tomorrow and want to take it with me. Can I charge the batteries without hurting anything ? I know lipo batteries have no memory function but didn't know if it made a difference now that the batteries work in series , or that they haven't been drained fully yet.

Just top off the batteries there is no memory problem with these batteries. You don't have a second set to take with you? I rotate two sets in this box.

Li-Ion Safety:

Never completely discharge li-ion rechargeable battery ( below 2.5V under load ).
Charge fully to 4.2V before first use.
Do not use force to install (insert) li-ion battery.
Use only high quality battery chargers made for Li-Ion cells.
Do not expose cells to heat.
Do not short |connect| positive , and negative battery contacts (terminals).
Keep battery that is not in use in plastic holder, or any insulating |plastic| container.
Do not charge battery over 4.29V (another reason to use good Li-ion battery charger).
Do not charge unattended.
Do not store your li-ion batteries fully charged (for extended period of time | one month or longer ).
Store in cold and dry place at approximately 3.7V (storage charge).
Never try to charge (or discharge) li-ion batteries with battery chargers that are not made for Li-ion batteries.
When charging | using | discharging battery must be inserted with correct polarity orientation.

The other 2 vtc5 have different charges on them and have not been used together at the same time. No biggie, I just brought my dna30 and kayfun lite.

I use a set of vtc5 that have not been used together or married, it's not like you are using them in parallel. They were bought at the same time. Just got an email on this charger for $8 may check it out.

Since they are in parallel, I choose to only use batteries that are married and only used specifically at the same time.

Heres the thing, everyone that has a charger.....it doesn't matter if the charger works......the only thing that matters, at the moment, for me, is if the IPV3 has a balance charger. If not, then the charger is void.

Exactly! I'll be getting mine on Saturday and all I'm waiting on is balanced charging verification.

Where do you see that I don't see anything about it?

Good question, it was in the header for IPV3 @ Ecigity on a Google search
And I can no longer locate it............
Ok I found it, it came from a customer review, my mistake.

iPV3 Charger

$18.99
(You save $6.00)

Also found this on another site about the iPV III

Do not use unauthorized chargers or the warranty will be voided!
We have customers that fried their unit because they used a charger cord recommended by forums.
Please avoid the charger until Pioneer4You releases their cord!
Thank you!

There is no balanced charging in the IPV3 I had mine apart it is not there the charge board wires run straight to the yihi chip and that's it the same two wires it takes power from are the only two that run to the batteries so there is no balanced charging and the batts are in series and I have noticed personally that one batt drains more than the other especially if I am using a ton of power I would not trust charging the mod with a cord regardless if P4Y releases their god cord.
