for those who got theirs from wakeandvape does the temp control work ? i ask because on their website they say you have to download that feature before it will work. i told asley i thought that was wrong-they work right out of the box-am i correct?

You are correct, the temperature control is installed and works well.

Ok...so after fiddle farting around and doing way too much thinking, I went ahead and ordered one from Element vape@ 77.99 + shipping. Their site says they are in stock.

For those of you who were looking at the black one, vape Royalty has a picture of the black one on their site. And it changed in the last 24 hours. It is all black metal, black clam shell.............................................and black screen cover...ie not the mirror finish. I don't know if that's the true final look or not, but that pic in different than what they have been displaying as "black" for the last few weeks.

If that is the final look, I see another one in my future.:cry:

It looks like P4Y figured out at the very least that they shouldn't have a dark cover over the screen area. I expect to see the silver start coming with a similar clear area for the screen.

Coming in at .062, I was pleasantly surprised to find it'll fire it just fine.

It should fire fine the IPV4 user manual lists a suggested range in TC mode of .05 to .1 ohm

It should fire fine the IPV4 user manual lists a suggested range in TC mode of .05 to .1 ohm. It is worth noting that in TC mode set at 50 Joules the IPV4 fires 3 volts through a .076 ohm coil on my unit. This equal a power output of 120 watts and nearly 40amps. At .05 ohms and 3 volts the wattage is pushing towards 180.

I'm pretty sure the mirror finish was to hide the shoddy state of the body and screen underneath, I wouldn't be surprised if they threw a mirror finish on the actual production models.

The "User Manual" for this MOD is ALL discombobulated. I believe the real specs are from 1/10 ohm aka 0.10 ohm to 3.00 ohms. This is inclusive of TC resistance and using standard Kanthal resistance.

Even the specs for the SXmini -M class box MOD are .08 to 3.0 ohms, and this unit uses the much more touted YiHi SX350J chipset.
Most of my Nickel coils are around .11 to .13 ohms TC at 450F @ 25 watts. (Vapor Flask V3 replica by Kangxin).

The black iPV4 is really sharp looking... I'm glad I waited. Probably order in June once these production and shipping issues settle down.

I don't think the mirror finish is to hide anything... it just goes along with the rest of how Pioneer4You has produced their units, to maintain a consistent look.
The way the main body is produced, production-wise it makes sense to do it the way they did in order to keep it cost-effective.
If those who don't like the way the main body cutout was manufactured aka "shoddy" perhaps they would be willing to design a better method which is more attractive and yet remains cost-efficient at the same time. OR just order the YiHI Ecigar SX M-Class mod for $200.00

Yihi themselves suggest running the SX Mini at .065 in temp control mode.

IF you go to the Yihi website none of the SX330 version chips state that. It's stated that the lowest resistance is .10 ohms up to 1.0 ohms in TC mode.

Have you made a coil that meets what you're stating and tested it? If so, please post the results with screenshots.

I was talking in reference to your comment on the SX Mini.

That being said if you go back a page or so you can see me running the IPV4 at .062, and I've had the thing firing at .05.

The manual also states that .05 - .1 is recommended.
Yeah, everything I've heard about YiHi's TC is the specific 0.065 number, and between 0.05 - 0.01 is the recommended range.

I've not tried TC on the IPV4 yet, but I can personally confirm your previous statement on the Mini
