I thought the recommended build range for TC coils on the ipv4 were much lower. Somewhere around .1 iirc. You may want to check out the directions.

EDIT: Per the instruction manual, recommended resistance for TC on the ipv4 is .05 to .1 ohm

All my coils are built with 26ga. Ni200 wire @ 0.09 or 0.10 ohms, 3.5mm ID with a 9/10 wrap and Ko Gen Do Japanese cotton. They fit perfect on my Kayfun V4 replicas by Tobeco. Excellent flavor, vapor and warm too! Coils and wicks last a long time. I vape anywhere from 70VG / 30 PG to 100% VG juices so the larger ID coil helps to feed the juice better.

I know that some folks don't like to or care to wrap their own coils, but five pre-built coil heads for $16.99 ? I can get two 50' rolls of Ni200 26ga wire for that price and build dozens of coils at 0.10 ohms.

I've heard there are lot of errors in the pamphlet that came with my IPV4..
That said after much research I found the recommended resistance for TC is
.12-1.0 ohms as per screenshot.. just sayin...

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ smacksy; that iPV4 manual is a frikkin' joke! I swear every YouTube video review I've watched slams the manual.
It definitely was published long before the final chipset configuration was decided upon. I guess iPV didn't want to spend the extra Yen to print new ones.

I swear the Chinese are some of the most innovative, ambitious, gracious, capitalistic people I've ever come across. Then again they're extremely frugal at that.
I used to sell appliances for one of the big box retailers in the early 2000's and they're a tough competitive haggle-prone bunch of customers, particularly the women! OMG!
The husbands would just step away or go to another department whilst I was closing the sale and dealing with at least one if not two or more (same family) of women who could haggle a better deal out of a gypsy sutler or a diamond merchant on the Diamond Exchange on W.47th St in New York.

And it will *not* fire a 0.038 build, that I can confirm, lol. It will fire a 0.047 build though.
What is a good build I could try?
I've had my two IPV4's a month or so now and have not tried a dual coil nickel build for TC yet..one thing was if it involved using 28g or higher I know that thin wire would be hard to tighten down without cutting it in my RDA (screws).. If I could use 26g would be great..

Which atty are you using? 26ga is going to require huge coils to get above the minimum resistance, especially with dual coils. In the Origen build I posted a pic of earlier I used 28ga, 9 wraps around a 2mm bit, I think. Resistance is 0.115 or thereabouts. I put a dual coil Ni200 build in my Billow V2 and used twisted 30ga. 9 wraps on each side (I think) around a 2mm bit and it ohms out at 0.047. Any lower and it likely won't fire.

Actually I have several attys to choose from...Dark Horse and Doge are my favorites at the moment..
I like 24g and parallel 26g kanthel particularly..haven't tried a nickel build for TC...I don't think I'd like a single coil build either..but thx for your reply
