The biggest problem (that I've heard of anyway) is one of design, not QC - the screen cover.

I see you keep saying this, but this is down to personal preference, I have a IPV mini with the same mirror screen, and it does not bother me at all, and it won't bother me on the IPV4 either, I don't change my tanks around, I have 1 tank per mod, and I stay at the same resistance, so the mirror finish is fine with me, and as they used the mirror screen on the IPV mini, don't see it being changed at any point for the IPV 4 either, just my 2cents on it :)

No other signs of QC problems on mine, or rather none of the device. Plenty of bugs on the chip, but we can blame Yihi for that. Oh and of course I did have one worrying HW issue the first day I got it, when it said "Too Hot" when it hadn't even been fired for 10+ minutes, and even then only very briefly (check video in my sig for more details.) But it hasn't repeated in a week of near constant use.

Of course my sample size of one is meaningless, but I've not heard reports from others as yet either. I've taken mine apart and looked inside and the wiring and soldering look reasonable enough (to my relatively untrained eye.) Certainly not a hot glue mess or anything.

I did hear a rumour about a problem with the 9V charger port - again one of design I think rather than QC - but I've not been able to pin it down. I've still not heard of anyone saying they've actually used it for more than a quick test of "yes it charges." I keep meaning to dig out a 9V/2A charger and test the charging speed but haven't done so yet.

Have you heard of specific problems that QC should have caught? Dead mods, not reading attys or anything?

No, not really. Just knowing vendors are catching a crap storm over supply...and in turn so is P4U. My only experience with P4U has been with and ipv2s. It currently resides in the "drawer" with resistance reading problems that popped up after about 4 months. It will fire @ .5, then @ 3.2, then at 1.9, then @ 5.4.............

One day I'll get around to replacing the wire from the 510 to the chip. Right now it's useless.

After mulling it over, I am kinda glad I don't have one on the way. Vendors in the US have to be bombarding P4U for product, and the sweat sh...uhhh factory probably ain't too worried about QC at the moment.

This is China we're talking about, they rush everything out slapdash fashion whether they're scrabbling to get product out for a new launch or it's a 3 year old product. :p

I have had Zero issues with my Sx Mini M class, it's amazing I don't think that it's China as whole ,but rather certain companies.

I sent VapeNW an email to see if I could change the color from the black to the silver because of the longer wait for the black. They said they couldn't do it. Hmmm. I was going to cancel my order but I'll just wait for now see what happens.

I made a similar request to eciggity in the ipv3 pre-order when the first wave of black came in and my order # was to far down the trough to get one sent out. They accepted the change and sent me out a silver as soon as they came in.

I guess, but it seems higher than the norm. $80 seems to be right about where most places were selling them, both during preorders over the past couple months and after release even.

Some places just like to price gouge. They'll charge as much as they possibly can for any mod.

For example, Artisan Vapor has the IPV4 in stock right now. But you have to be willing to pay $100.

    IPV4 100W Mod by Pioneer4you - Artisan Vapor Company

But that's not at all unusual for them.

They want $70 for an iStick 50W, and $110 for a black Itaste SVD 2.0. ($105 for the silver one) They're mods are all priced $20+ over what everyone else charges. That's just how they operate.

My ipv4 from wakeandvape arrived today, and works perfectly! Looks better than in pictures, and the vape sock is a nice little bonus.

Thanks wakeandvape, hope to do business with you again!

Congrats!!! I'm really liking mine too so far, much nicer than I thought, and even more so for the price. Looks great and feels great in hand, works a treat too (haven't tried TC yet, very soon).

    Like the sock too ;)

Big thanks to Wake and Vape, they were wonderful, and Ashley was great when I talked to her, VERY prompt at returning emails.

This goes a bit beyond personal preference...the screen is nearly unreadable on my IPV4. I've seen the mirror screen on the IPV Mini and for whatever reason this is even darker.

Outside of a very small number of prerelease units that shipped out they all have temp control.

Got mine and a bunch of nickel in today, I'm in love with temp control already.

I'm curious what ohms that build is displaying. I'll never be able to get that many wraps to fit in my Goliath.
