Very little, id say. I have an unregulated mod, a VAMO and a Twist, and they perform generally the same, given that im putting out power within all their limited range. The unregulated and the VAMO have wider limits of course, useful for when i need to crank it up past 10-12 watts.

But theyre just batteries.

Also useful to note that most cartos, clearos and other tanks that dont use mesh wicks perform best at around 8 watts. So unless you are getting in the Genesis world, your eGo is fine.

If your ego battery is unregulated, then over the hours of vaping you would notice a difference between the two. The unregulated will produce less and less voltage as the battery dies, where the regulated mod will vape more consistently to the end. There are a few other things that could be mentioned, but all in all that is the major one imho.

Maybe, maybe not. You may find that 3.7V and LR are all you need, I did. I've been using the same stainless steel 3.7V E-Power 14650 for more than a year and a half. It's not VV, but it is voltage regulated.

There is one advantage to the voltage regulation available with some of the VV APVs. Because they use a voltage boosting circuit they can maintain that 3.7V a little longer. The E-Power provides 3.7V only when battery charge is 4.2 to 3.7V. Voltage boosting can let you drain the battery further and still get 3.7V. On the other hand, draining the battery much lower than 3.5V will cost you in terms of battery charge cycles. And 3.5V comes up pretty fast after reaching 3.7V.

The other thing I like about the E-Power 14650 is the form factor. It's 1050 mAh but eGo sized and thinner than anything that uses a 18xxx battery.

I do notice a big difference in ejuices when I vape at different voltages. For example, yesterday I was vaping a chocolate at a 5.0V on my Provari, then swapped tanks to a blueberry lemonade. I was wondering why the juice felt like it was "burning" my tongue! Then I realized the voltage I had it set at. I dialed it back to 3.6V, then got the sweet taste of blueberry with a muted citrus taste. VV does bring you to the next level and I do highly recommend it, even if you're only going for an EGO Twist. Really, it's the WATTAGE that determines the sweet spot for your juices, but altering the volts (using Ohm's Law) in combination with the resistance of your atomizer/clearomizer will get you there. I just ordered a Tesla (VW) so I could regulate the wattage without doing physics.

The infamous vaping wattage chart. Wattage is a function of device voltage and atomizer resistance.

I have a KGO and a Vision VV, both of which I am very happy. They perform well and good batt life. I find a VV very handy for eliminating any burnt flavour. Think some of the sweeter EJuices get the burnt flavour and need the heat/voltage cut right back. They are only slightly more expensive than the medium range and imnsho well worth the money. I normally use CE cartos with them and while I am forever changing my EJuice, looking for perfection - love most of them, I will stick with my hardware.
Cheers and enjoy your Vape,

EGo batts are regulated, unless you mod them.

Or you get the pointless eGo-C "Upgrade" which has a regulated mode and an unregulated one. I think the slogan was something like: "Get a Joyetech and a Knock-Off in one device!"

It didn't test well with the focus groups. (I bought one by accident.)

Great example! I bought a Provari, and I'm very happy with it, but I find with the fruit juices I prefer, I'm not really using the higher wattage. The eGo twist is a great inexpensive way to try VV to see if you like it, and will serve as a back up/out and about device if you do decide to go bigger.

Actually I have about 14 batteries including the provari. It's a great well built battery but I like VW better for me. I find it much easier to use. I really don't think that just because of the provari name it vapes that much better than any other high end mod at the same approx voltage and that is JMHO. The juice delivery device is of more importance on high end mods. Different strokes and all that stuff.....

Ok, at the risk of sounding like a ProVape fanboy, I've A/Bed my Provari vs Spinner several times & w/several different juices/delivery devices & at the (supposed) same volts. No comparison to ME. The Spinner is a nice battery, but in my tests the ProV provided a significantly better vape every single time. Of course YMMV...but I doubt it.

My vapor is the best because it was made by Provari.

:D (it's true)

I no longer own any of the intermediate-sized batteries (eGo). All of my PV's are mods that use replaceable, rechargeable batteries. Of the five I have (2 mechanical fixed-voltage mods, 3 variable voltage mods) the one I prefer because of it's most consistant vape is the Provari.

The Provari is an expensive device, and because of that and other reasons I would not recommend that they are for every vapor. If you can afford one and can rationalize that its expense is worth it, you'll more than likely agree with thousands of Provari owners that you do not regret your purchase.

For those on a budget, a variable voltage eGo battery like a Joyetech Twist or Vision Spinner can be just as an enjoyable experience for far less than a Provari.
