the reason I ask is because some of lorrans concentrated flavors such as strawberry, coffee, and a few other flavorings have added color in them, I have also seen many juices on the shelves that are funky colors, are these colors bad for you, do the colors themselves evaporate or are the pigments left behind on the coil, cause I hear a lot of times, that deep colors leave more gunk on a coil. Also its not like we blow blue clouds or red clouds, but is there anything wrong with this?

I'd be very concerned about added color ending up gunking up the coil faster.
Metals don't get vaporised, and its really the presence of metals in eliquids I believe end up gunking up coils. And while I'm no expert on food colorings, metals tend to contribute to colours.

I don't put food coloring in my juices just for the fact that it's unknown if it will cause health problems and I could care less how my juice color looks. All I care about is how good it taste. If you must color your juice I would buy my coloring from a vender that sells vaping supplies. Ecigexpress sells food coloring.

The only reason I use any type coloring in my mixes is because I have 7 different tanks that I keep full of juice. The color helps me know which one is which... lol
But, I only use like a single drop or a maximum of two drops to get the very basic color in. Then again, I make all my juices at 30ml each so it gives me a little bit of play room for getting the flavors as exact as I can for my taste. Other than that, if it isn't absolutely necessary, I would see no need to.
Also, if you decided to color your flavors, in the "wedding" kinda' area at Walmart.... they have some food coloring that come in like, 12 different shades of colors that are a gel and water based and VERY concentrated. I picked up some and I think they were something like $13.88 for the whole box of them. I haven't had the opportunity to mess with them all that much but, a very TINY amount will go a very long way if you are just wanting a basic tint to discern what mixed flavors you have. :)

I, like Dannyv45 don't know about any health issues with using the colors so, I wouldn't know if they would be of any harm or not. I do know that all the pre-made juices (mass production stuffs) usually have been colored but, I couldn't say either way to be completely honest.

I've seen casual reference to "caramel color" being unsafe to vape, but I've never investigated whether any scientific backing exists for that statement. It might be worth researching that one in particular, because it is listed as an ingredient in a number of popular flavorings.

Personally I just avoid unnecessary additives when possible and choose a "clear" version when available.

This is a Question that has yet to be Answered.

Since vaping is relative new, the Long Term Effects of Habitual Inhalation of Food Colorants is Unknown.

I am not aware of significant metals in e-liquids. In general even pure free-base nicotine has at most ppm levels, or less. Gunked coils is from thermal decomposition of flavors, PG, VG, nicotine, all with enough heat will decompose, and often into larger poorly vaporized compounds. Keeping the coil wet will minimize this.

I believe artificial colors should not be vaped, mainly because there is not much data on inhalation risks of artificial colors. Some people are extremely allergic to artificial colors. Some vendors do add colors to their juices, but I personally don't think that is a good idea at all. But it is not illegal. I think adding your own colors to DIY juices is risky, and does not benefit the taste at all. Many artificial colors are larger molecules that can decompose more easily than flavor compounds, VG, PG, or nic, and decomposition should always be minimized or eliminated. After all, it is thermal decomposition products of smoke that are so bad for you.

Colors evolve in some juices from nicotine oxidizing over time, and some flavor compounds can form interactions with nic-oxides that give other colors. Many vanilla juices over time will go pink. I do not think this is harmful at all, but then I do not think there is enough data on this to state that definitively. Seems very unlikely this is harmful, since nic-oxides are not, and the vast majority of flavor compounds are not.

I don't know either.

Voice in my head said the most safe to least safe is: PG, some flavors, VG, nic, other flavors.

I like to vape zero black pepper but I don't inhale. Don't wanna be the test mouse. I'm confident one can survive years of nic inhalation therapy. Not sure about color inhalation therapy. I vape unflavored and get flavor w/ my drink or candy.

The voice inside my head is telling me it's still to early to leave the asylum:)

Not to Worry.

The Voices in your Head is just a Result of Yellow #5 Food Coloring.
