Is an istick worth it?

I got mine yesterday and the power management definitely has problems when set to lower voltage or wattage. Which I was expecting, so I only got it for use with my full sized nautilus, which requires higher power settings than the Davides I usually use. I tried a Davide on it out of curiosity and was definitely getting scorched flavor on the lowest settings.

The 510 connector is also a little wonky, so I'm using the Ego adapter and a beauty ring, which actually looks better than having the nautilus sitting not quite flush with the istick. This kind of negates the small size advantage.

Did you get it from the ecig.com sale last weekend?

I don't think that would even be possible. They're just starting to send out processing notices. but, I'm very hopeful things will go smoothly. I don't see them being able to quickly send out orders, seeing as this is their first foray in big time sales, and considering the onslaught they received.

best regards, larry mac

The istick looks nice but I'm curious, why not just save up a little more and get a cloupor, ipv, or siglei box mod?
At least with those you can change switch out the batteries easy and you're getting double/triple the wattage.
The price of sending a istick in to get serviced/battery switched would probably be the price of a new istick itself.

Or do you just like the style/size of the istick more?

Maybe you have a defective unit? I have 3 iSticks and 12 Nautilus tanks (regular and mini) and they all sit perfectly flush without any sort of adapter or beauty ring.

I suspect I could tighten it down harder and get it flush, but with quite a few people having problems with the 510 pin getting pushed down I didn't think it would be a good idea.

Nope, Smoke Evolution.

I prefer not having to switch out batteries. I don't like high wattage, so the Innokin VV v3 and now the Istick work fine for me. The only reason I got the Istick is because I have hand problems that make the MVP button hard for me to use, and the VV v3's 800 ma battery doesn't last long enough if I'm out and about all day. They're great for at home where I can just charge one while using another and/or use them as pass through while charging.

Lots of us are perfectly happy using standard clearos at low wattage.

Hi, I am new to the forum and have just pre-ordered the iStick (this company call it the Curve) and I cannot wait to get it! Has anybody tried it yet? I want to know much as much as i can before i receive it.. i have ordered from .theelectroniccigarette.co.uk

Any help appreciated :)

I have read which could be right or wrong sorry big help.
Anyway some say the istick can run hot in that it gives out more power than it reads. there is a pBusardo video on youtube in which he reviews it and explains it more technically.
I'm thinking that if you vape at a certain voltage / wattage on a certain resistance then try it at a lower voltage / wattage for the istick.
Or if you find a good setting on the istick then you may need a higher setting on a different device.
Not that it matters that much.

They are definitely worth it. I noticed if i run my mini protank 2 on it then the juice taste burnt if i crank it up very high. But if I run my normal protank 2 it can handle the high watts alot better. What causes that

Different resistance of the coils?

Also, obviously do not crank your volts/watts very high.

The full size Provari uses 18490's, or 18650's with extension cap. The Mini uses 18350's, or 18490's with the extension cap.

You are right ... I bought the 18350's in hopes of shortening my Sigelei Zmax V3. I've only used 18650's in my Provari V2. Still, vape time was so short at 800mah that I didn't use them long and only used them singly, not stacked.

I was in Stormy's Vapor Cellar yesterday and they had two iStick kits left. I bought the silver one.

My EHPro Kayfun 3.1 fits nicely on top and the entire package is small enough to get lost in my jeans pocket or in my windbreaker. The body is a very close match in width to the Kayfun. I really like the small size. I vaped all afternoon at 1.8 ohms and the battery only showed a small drop in the display. I like that fact that I can plug in a USB cable and vape while driving and charging.

It's a little more productive at 3.7v than my Provari or Zmax at the same setting.

When I install my LCD voltage meter inline it tells me I have no atomizer installed and refuses to fire the atomizer or light up the voltmeter. That voltmeter reads normally on my Provari with the Kayfun. It just flashes on my Sigelei Zmax V3, but provides a vape when installed. It doesn't work on the iStick and that may be due to the depth of the 510 socket not making contact with my particular 510 voltmeter.

I like the iStick and retired the Provari and the Zmax for the afternoon. I think this one is going to be my goto vape for a while. My heavy Kayfun tends to tip over the Provari and the Zmax due to the small bases on both and the top heavy configuration. The iStick has a larger base, lower center of gravity, and has no tip over tendency so far.

My wife hates it when the Provari tips over on a table and goes Thwack! She likes the low profile on the iStick since it doesn't tip over and slap the table top.

If you watch PBusardo's video (posted earlier up in this thread) he explains it all.

The iStick is simply small and comfortable to hold in the hand. For < $20.00 it is a great step up from a simple twist battery (IMHO). You can run VV or VW mode. It has higher output than many stick batteries, great battery life. If you use ego tanks adapters are available, any micro USB cable can be used to charge. 20 watts should be enough for any simple tank user. RDA/RTA users may find the 20 watt to be limiting.

I've had the MVP, various stick batteries, the iTaste VV, Hana with a DNA 30. I really like my Eleaf, and have been using it daily for the past two weeks. I have a second on the way.

I don't. I have the big driper and a veritas build with single coil at 1.4 ohm and have the driper set at 14 w and veritas at 17w. Both are a awesome vape.

I was not trying to say that the iStick was limiting. Rather for the power hungry vaper sub-ohm'er, high wattage type of person it would be limited. Heck I run a dual 1.1 ohm coil on my BD and enjoy it very much.

There's an 18650 extension cap for the mini. or 2 extensions and a bottom will work too.

I forget who makes the 18650 mini extension. Somebody corrected one of my posts a couple months back and linked it.

Sent from my device.

After using my iStick for several days I'm satisfied that I can keep it charged with a USB connection as I move around town. I've always carried a spare battery for my Provari in a battery box in case I get stuck away from home for extended periods. With the iStick I can leave it charging in the car or vape while plugged in and driving.

I generally vape at 3.7v on a 1.8 or 2 ohm coil on my Provari. On the iStick I find myself ranging from 3.4v to 3.7v. Both of those numbers are in the 4.5 to 6.5 watt range. Even on those low voltage vape levels I find myself going through a Kayfun tank and a half, sometimes two tanks a day. That's 6ml to 9ml a day.

Those who vape high voltage low ohms must be either vaping 15ml to 20ml a day or not vaping frequently. It takes a lot of juice to make huge clouds all day.
