Good god, 1 year into vaping, I've gone through multiple spinner batteries, davide tanks, kanger tanks. In the last 3 months, a sigelei 100w, a fogger 4.1 and a fogger big, and a smok m50 mod. Now a sig 100+ and another fogger big. More batteries too! Have to buy 4 batteries every time I buy a sig.... I still want the sig 150. I'm on a fixed income jeez! Also the smok has upgraded to the m65, for the single battery version. I spent less on tobacco! Of course I feel a hell of a lot better now, 40 years of smoking is bad..... still I wish I knew what eating was like....

I got three vape packages the other day in the mail. As a 27 year old I can honestly tell you I hadn't felt that level of excitement since Christmas morning when I was a kid. I would've hugged the mailman had I been there when he dropped it off. The short answer is no.

lmao...................:D

It's possible to stop, but you may take a while and a lot of shiny gear to get to that point! I've stopped buying new gear after amassing quite a collection, haven't purchased anything other than juice since October. My happy place is an iPV3 with a Plume Veil/Chuff cap. Everything else collects dust. I still get the urge to build my other gear, but whatever I make doesn't come close to my magic combo.

FWIW, many folks buy a Reo and call it quits too...I'd try it myself but I'm too into twisted coils and regulated power at this point.

Absolutely.

Once you get settled with rebuildables you're good on the topper side of things.
On the power side of things though you're pretty much stuck for now using batteries unless you do like me and rig up a power adapter to supply your mod (like in my avatar on the left), but sooner or later I expect we'll see some plugin type modules for mods where you can just plugin to the wall instead of decreasing your battery worklife; provape actually has had one for a long time.

The first couple of years, I wanted to try everything for myself so I bought everything that I thought might be decent. In December of 2011, I got my first high quality bottom feeder and my purchases declined drastically. I did buy what should have been a high quality top feeder a couple of months later... It had some issues, but served me on and off for a few months when it wasn't in the mail back and forth to its maker. In Feb 2013 I picked up another high quality bottom feeder which is still in service (so is the first one).

After Feb 2013, I bought nothing but a few commercial attys and some juice until July 2014. I picked up another REO, not because I needed it, just because the new design intrigued me... Probably won't get another for a while unless something really strikes my fancy. --> I use rebuildable attys now and I have wick and wire enough to last a decade or more. I buy about 10 months worth of juice at a time and currently have maybe 5 or 6 months worth on hand. I replace batteries as needed, but it seems to be necessary about every 7-8 months.

Yeah. When you find what works for you, you'll probably lose interest in other stuff. And, I think a lot of people find a "rhythm" like I did with supplies like juice and batteries. My costs are less than 15 bucks a month now. -- Trying everything I could get my hands on was fun... expensive, but fun. Being satisfied and enjoying my vape for less than 15 bucks a month is better.

In the beginning, do whatever you have to do to stay off the cigs.

Later on, with some discipline, if you WISH to stop spending a lot then you can always just *decide* to be content with what you have.

I would not suggest doing that when you are in the throes of trying to get off cigs though.

In essence, the whole concept of being happy / content with what one has seems to be a huge problem in general with the american public, that is why their credit cards are maxed out and they have no savings.

And don't forget, people who started vaping back in 2008 and so on, they quit smoking using stuff that people today would say was *impossible* to use.........but they did. :)

I bought stuff out of curiosity, as I am interested in electronics and designs. To be honest, I was happy with my Ego Twists and today, could still be fine if that was what I had to use --- just find something you sort of like a lot. For many people last year it was the MVP2. for instance.

Unless you want to own everything. Some people do, and it is nobody's business how anyone else chooses to spend their money. :)

People like to get new toys , for me it helps to wait a while and get some feedback on products coming out.
One hand people buying a product as soon as it comes out may lead to companies in a rush to just put out anything.
Other hand those people can be guinea pigs to show what faults a new product may have.

I spent about $300 on a new mod and tank in early 2012, to try and quit smoking for the second time. I did quit and only bought cartomizers and juice for 2.5 years.

In the last few months I've racked up a vaping gear bill of nearly $1000. For a poor boy like me, that's a lot of money. So I have to stop buying stuff, or my wife may kill me when she sees the credit card bill. :)
