Hi, its been a while and I miss the forums so I'm back

I've gone through a few stardusts and two of them died normal and acceptable deaths, either they kind of lost their mojo or tiny little cracks appeared on the bottom that started gurgling, but there was no mess or inconvenience.

Others leaked and made a mess. I've noticed too that many ship with little cracks already near the base. They also tend to "bend" and the silicone base does not align with the black plastic mouthpiece thing.

I stick them in my pockets all the time, so they are probably getting stressed that way. I don't know if its just me but it seems the smoktek ones are a bit sturdier.

ok, to the question - is there a higher grade, more durable clearo out there?

Are you using the original clearomizers from Vision? My experience with the vision clearomizers or stardusts is that they are very durable, haven't had problems like yours. I did have many problems with no name clearomizers. I agree that the vivi nova is a great alternative very durable and holds much more e juice.

I'm personally fond of the vivi novas, they are easy to work with and don't "sputter" like the Vision V3s (for me at least). Very quiet too, just because it doesn't sound like bacon doesn't mean it's not working. If you are feeling adventurous you can re-coil your own wicks for them. The head life is measured in weeks, with proper care you can easily get a month out of one (just cleaning them every day/couple tank fills).

I've not had the pleasure of using a squid, so can't vouch for them. Someone else was inquiring about them recently in here, I'm not sure if they ever got an answer...now I have to look. Brb.

Back. Nope, nobody replied so I'm not sure if ANYONE has used them. If I didn't just get a bunch of vivis shipped in I would order a squid to test out.

My vote is for the Vivi Nova (I love the minis), the T2 is great and a MUCH better draw than the stardust, and my all-time fave - they ain't pretty but they just work and work well - the Phoenix/Firebird bottom coils (not the 3ml one). I just cleaned one of the very first ones I started using a few months ago, probably its 20th cleaning, and it STILL works perfectly and tastes like the day I opened it.

Edit:

I just noticed you said you stick them in your pocket. Don't do that with the phoenix. Or the T2. Or the Vivi. You'll crack the tank, or rip out the base. The Vivi won't break, but you'll probably rip the 510 connection right off your PV. The only thing I found that was pocket friendly is the ego mini with the cone and a boge carto. I've popped off the drip tip a few times, but the rest is solid for pocket use.

Maybe I spoke too soon
Vivi Nova V3 & Replacement Parts Long Wicked Standard.

Also looking at the Squid - I think I may just go and visit and have a look and ask about them

CV also had the metal tanks for both the mini vivi nova and the regular sized larger tank... they are listed in the parts section under cartridges/tanks/tips. I've never used the Squid, but I really like the mini vivi nova.

My eGo-W is totally pocket friendly.... but with the 1000mAh batts I have, you'd better have big pockets *giggle*
I've been considering a 350mAh mini for fun, but worried it would barely last for an outing....

Well, I got a vivi nova tank clearo - the measurements go up to 2 ml but I suspect its the 2.5 mini. Very happy so far, I can tell its more sturdy because if I put a little pressure sideways I don't see the thing bending (which is what my new stardusts did). I remember now that some of the stardusts weren't even straight when I put it on the first time. Those big rings on both ends of the vivi, they mean business.

Squids not in stock on hand, nor the metal vivi covers but I will pre order next time.

I agree, this isn't something you can put in your jeans and forget about it .. but this more solid and it seems more airtight and don't need to handle like a gingerbread cookie.

I think someone mentioned it but there was an interesting option - a metal tank with a bottom style coil system and a cover that goes on with a pen clip. The problem is that when you put a full size ego battery on it, it gets a little ridiculous. With the mini batt sure but worried about the life on that.

Thanks for the tips, much appreciated!

btw, the T2 I set aside just because it looked like it might have the same issue as the stardust, and the guy at the booth said it has been an issue on these too. still a nice product, but not for me.

The T2's have a tip that will break under pressure (a little brittle), the VIVI with the aluminum tank and a cone underneath are pretty solid

If you're talking about the eGo-W, then that was me.... I actually love mine. It's not actually a metal tank, but a clear tank with a metal cover that has slots so you can see your juice level. With the 1000mAh batt, it's a hair over 6-1/4" long with the pen cap on. So not ridiculous, but not tiny either. It was a very good choice to start out and I can see being happy with it (and some add-ons) for a long time.

no insult intended : )
yes, that's the one. you know honestly I am not sure why it seemed so strange and now when you put it that way, i think its because we are not used to seeing the tip covered and the whole thing having the same diameter. i thought it seemed "normal" with my 650 but I mostly use the 1000 twist. the price is reasonable, I may just get one next time and have a more open mind. it is after all exactly what need for carrying around at work, and it doesn't give off that illicit pipe vibe that anything with a clear tank has .. (no put down intended there either)

Hey Savu, my opinion...

Well, the version 2.0 (stardust) clearo Canvape carries may or may not be of higher quality but the ability to take it apart for cleaning, dryburning, replacing the wick, or to adjust the center post makes it more versatile and increases longevity overall. IMO.

The plastic tube is much more durable and I've not had one crack at all over the last couple months.

While you may not be able to toss it in your jeans pocket and forget about it, at least if it does get a little bent out of shape it's easy enough to straighten it out again. I carry a hard shelled glasses case.

I'm sitting here with more than half a dozen of the non replaceable head types that I've had for months, since I received the 2.0's. I don't think I'll ever need to pull one out for back-up purposes as not one replacement head, tube or base on the 2.0's have given up on me yet. I just replace the wick with 1 1/2 mm. cotton wick when performance wanes and it's good for a few more weeks. It's a very easy and quick dryburn process with no wick in the coil.

Tried the DID clone and another rebuildable but for cost and ease of use, the 2.0 is still the best thing going imo.
The slight flavour improvement(over the cotton wick in the SD 2.0) just isn't worth all the extra hassle, tweaking, handling, tipping, leaking etc.

If you found the regular SD's fairly acceptable you may be even more pleased with the version 2.0 Stardust.

I certainly am.:vapor::vapor:

Oh! None taken! I'm just really excited about what I got and how well it's working for me so I get excited and share lots lol.

Although I did kill a clearo finally.... I've been taking them apart to clean them, and getting better and better at it, but I think this one (being the first) I manhandled it a little too much. It was giving me crummy vape, so I checked it to clean it again and it seems that the coil was barely connecting... and now after monkeying with it more, not at all! I got three weeks out of it, so I guess I can't complain. But now I'm really hoping my replacements or at least my trial Stardust show/s up this week! Down to one now! *biting nails*
