I feel like the many people are too cocky about the healthiness of vaping. There are many harmful chemicals in the flavoring of the liquids. Sure, the ingredients may be "safe for consumption", but not necessarily for inhalation. I.e., popcorn lung, etc..

At this time I still support vaping as a crutch to quit smoking, but I worry about those who have picked up vaping recreationally.
Better that they pick up recreational vaping vs recreational smoking?

How about picking up neither a far better option I know the way some think it's only a choice between those two vaping or smoking but it isn't, if I had to choose I'd say smoking because at least vaping would be around when they wanted off the tobacco but vaping straight off no we shouldn't be encouraging that. Flame away I don't care recreational vaping has bought a lot of problems to vaping that we really didn't need and hasn't helped one bit.

Why should I support recreational vaping? I support vaping as a smoking cessation tool.
I know it is safer than smoking. But it is still harmful. ANTZ use recreational smoking in its propaganda (recruiting teens, etc...). So, recreational vapers are not helping ex-smokers.

It is BV (Big Vape) that wants more and more recreational vapers. Business as usual.
Yep smoking substitution does not require a 200W mod. or 6 coil tanks.

yep and don't git a girl pregnant? Don't drink? And on and on all teens sure follow all that advise don't they?
I would rather mine started neither but if they are going to do one I prefer that they vape.

Watch this video from Suck My Mod about Diacetyl. It pretty much sums it up.

Just watched it.
many reactions on here proves just how effective the media is in controlling our though processes.
I quit smoking. Vaping now. WHAT! They put popcorn lungs in my ejuice?!!!
Yeah like at a 1% level of what you were getting when you smoked.

The Diacetyl sky is falling OMG!

More people have died from stabbing themselves with a fork than from popcorn lung.
8 cases and maybe a few more is all the confirmed cases of popcorn lung?

Historically, roughly one million young people start smoking each year. It defies logic and reasoning to think that many of those million won't vape instead. And I think it is unconscionable to prefer that they smoke first so that years later they "vape correctly". Especially considering that much research suggests that never smokers will not get heavily dependent on nic if they vape.

Is it a full moon? These threads seem to be crawling out of the woodwork.
It shows the susceptibility of the public including vapers to the recent media article about the DIACTYL in ejuice. at about a 1% level of the diacetyl found in cigarettes.

I am about fed up with some vapers thinking vaping causes everything from mental issues to hangnails.

You think it is bad for you? Then don't do it.
Don't expect to get expert medical advise on possible vaping issues that have not even been documented yet from a bunch of vapers on a chat board.

This is new ground here folks. Sure vaping cannot be as safe as not vaping. However all the results so far shows that vaping is FAR safer than smokiing.

I think if you never smoked, you should have to use a ProVari. Smokers trying to quit can use whatever they want.
As far as the topic goes......wait....what was the topic?
I think it was Dancing Girls

Is it a full moon?

Just the usual doom and gloom. Concerned citizens looking to tar&feather something or someone. This time the victim may or may not be one or more of the following:

- Diacetyl
- Vaping
- Harvard
- Science
- Politics

As far as I can tell, the following usual suspects are safe for this round

- Smoking
- Sub ohm
- Mechanical mods
- Nicotine
- Cloud chasing
- New vapers
- Machismo

So far - some butts have been hurt. Including mine, but just a little. The children appear to be safe-ish. Teens maybe not so much. And... well... "we" seem to be mistaken. Again.

A poster here has said in past posts there were 24 or 26 cases of popcorn lung.
This consisted of incidences in two popcorn factories and one flavor making plant.
There was one non-industry case. That was from a guy who supposedly ate copious
amounts of microwave popcorn. There was two additional case reported from workers
in a coffee roasting plant in Texas this last year. So you had a five year run from the late 1990's
thru the early 2000's then nothing until the two coffee plant workers. Although I never
added up all the cases from what I have read about while researching the subject the posters claims
do not seem to be out of line.
Its funny how over time peoples perceptions change. I remember when the popcorn eaters case
was going to court and the big popcorn lung threat was spreading like wildfire. The word
from the media, scientific community and, government was it was highly unlikely the general
public would be harmed as popcorn lung was a industrial related disease caused by working
with large amounts of raw flavoring. After that everything just blew over until we started
using it in e-juice. There have been many minor scares throughout the food handling
industry on and off since the mid 2000's. All have fallen to the wayside once it was understood
who got popcorn lung, where they got popcorn lung, and how they got popcorn lung.
Namely by dumping 50 pound bags of powdered diacetyl into mixers all day.
My how things have changed. I watched the video and tend to agree with the guy.
The only thing I would add is don't look for community harmony anytime soon.
Having lived through the protests of the 60's and seventies, then the initial demonization
of smokers and the bans that followed I can tell you one thing. There are those in our midst
stirring the pot. They are batting for the other team. Agent provocateurs.
: one employed to associate with suspected persons and by pretending sympathy with their aims to incite them to some incriminating action.
Although more common usage would be to incite people to break the law in our case they
incite us to make irrational decisions and cause general derision within the vaping community.

Nobody is getting sick. There are millions of vapers around the world who have been vaping for years. We are a gigantic uncontrolled experiment. Where are reports of doctors treating illnesses caused by using ecigs? My prediction is, if there are problems, it will be related to high daily ml's, or high heat, and/or flavorings that irritate some people. I reduced the percent of flavor in my DIY to address some irritation.
