It HAD to be my vaping ....

Here and There
In March I had my annual checkup and everything was fine.
I've been hypo-thyroid for 15 years, and take Syntroid for it.
This time the doctor increased my dose. This happens every
so many years. It's the only RX medicine I take.

A few weeks later I got some strange and scary symptoms. And of
course, I immediately blamed my vaping. I've been at it since October
2010 and, although it's been nothing but enjoyable, except for the
occasional mouth sore, vaping HAD to be the culprit.

It started with insomnia. Then my scalp and face started
twitching. I had headaches, leg cramps, dizziness and finally
my heart began racing. I was scared, exhausted, just totally
miserable.

I had already changed from my usual all-VG juice to a PG juice.
Reduced my nic, cut out coffee, and when nothing changed,
I stopped vaping. It made no difference whatsoever. By now I
was a basket case. I couldn't leave the house, let alone drive a car.

I called my doctor and got an appointment right away. But
before I even got ready, they called me back and said they'd
checked my labs and RX. The doctor had made an error when she
increased my Synthroid. They had already called my pharmacy with
a new, lower RX. I looked up the symptoms for over-medicating with
thyroid hormones. All my symptoms were listed. And it was only then
that I learned how dangerous this can be. It doesn't take much to
create major problems with these hormones.

I have been on the correct dose for weeks now and am almost
my normal self again. Still struggling with insomnia, but it's
getting better. All other symptoms are gone. Of course, I'm
vaping my favorite juice again and enjoying it.

Wasn't my reaction to my symptoms just so typical of an ex-smoker
turned vaper? Yes, I'm totally conditioned to believe that anything
containing nicotine is responsible for any and all things that can go
wrong. "And now I'm taking it in "juice" .. Gawd knows what's in there!".
LOL. Next time I know better.
