IMO the MP is enough feed for a single coil.
Thanks guys. Poppa D, I have been running dual coils on the ithaka from day one.
Need help regarding wicking problems after refilling Ithaka.
I'm using double coil X configuration with 3mm fiber, 50:50 juice with basic feeding closed.
I've tried closing the top nut in every possible way with LC fully closed and still have wicking issues.
Before this juice I was using pure VG juice with no problems even though the setup is the same.
What is the best way to close the top nut for the right pressure to build up in the tank?
Hi guys,
I have just owned an Ithaka and have no trouble setting it so far. But i need some advise on my setup.
I have prior to my ithaka vaped exclusively on drippers eg. eBaron, Killer, Igo etc. and carto tank prior to that. I dont like genny because it spills and leaks. After 3 years of vaping i am down to 6mg and now 12mg seemed harsh to me (throat hit). I vape only fruity juices now. Normally my preferred setting is around 1.2 ohm to 1.8 ohm depending on the tank and juice I used. If i want to play around with vapor I have tanks set up with dual coils and 0.4-0.6 ohm.
I have now an Ithaka set up with dual coil @1.0 ohm. It works as expected, no issue but only that the throat hit is VERY STRONG to me with my normal 6mg juices. Is this normal for this type of tank? Please advise, thanks.
darth be aware that the Ithaka gives a stronger TH if the coils are set parallel and lesser if they're set in the X configuration
Mine is X configuration with extra strand in between for wicking.
Surprised, as drippers tend to hit hot and hard also. What % PG/VG do you use? Are you experiencing plenty of vapor or just mediocre vapor? Are you using eko or silica? Last question, Do you lung or mouth hit(My Ithakas are one of the only atty's that I dont lung with 1.8 nic)?

2x 3mm holes? That seems enormous. I still don't quite understand your issue with the air flow - I take giant lung-filling hits, I don't suck it into my mouth first, it all goes right into my lungs - I only need to hold the button down for maybe 3-5 seconds - a lot like taking a drag of an analog.
Maybe you're just so used to these huge holes now it feels constricting?
My typical setup is .6ohm dual coils on 3mm silica (or lately, cotton hemp yarn)

I haven't cleaned it. I know with Kayfun and other atomizers if you don't clean it gives weird taste, but with Ithaka i didn't. But if you don't want to risk it, some soap and rinse with water should do the trick. Maybe mine were extra clean.
2x 2.5 - 3mm holes is sort of standard around here in socal at least... i got to a lot of vape shops in orange county, ca and in the inland empire. Most people running dual coils at around .4 - .8ohms are using the 3/32 - 1/8 size bits to knock out their holes. Review MCVapes youtube channel about resistance + airflow, you'll see what im talking about. Initially I was like you, I would drill out the holes slightly larger than stock, I thought everything was working at maximum efficiency.
Then, after watching McVape's Airflow & Resistance video, I decided to pull out one of my dirt cheap atty's, my IGO-W. Which I love. After drilling the 2 holes out to 3/32, my vapor production + nicotine delivery was FAR better. Then I up'ed it even more by going to McVape's preferred size of 2 holes @ 1/8 (3mm) basically like sucking through a straw, which for direct lung hits is amazing. Don't knock it till you rock it. I was holding down my switch for 3 - 5 seconds, now it's literally 1 second, one-one thousand - exhale. I guess the answer is no, there's no way to expand the airhole unless I drill through the center connection pin.
Too bad, maybe nextgen Ithaka can go a little bigger. I don't see any downside to offering a bigger airhole for that small percentage of people out there like me, seeing how if you don't like it, you can simply tighten it up. With new atomizers hitting the market like the Kraken & the Omega, you can see by the size of these airholes, there's obviously a demand for a more airy draw.

Sorry to get off topic, I realize this is the official Ithaka page, but for $200.00 for a nice atomizer, I wanted to reach out to the awesome community and see if people had ideas. I'm going to try drilling out some additional airholes. Once I finish it - I will post pictures for all the other vapers who prefer an airy draw like myself.
Thanks all! and Thanks Imeo for making a kickass device.
I refuse to drill air holes larger in any set up, especially GG. I find very little reason if any. My OCD would not permit me to mod one of Imeo's as they are tried and tested true. If set up correctly no additional amount of air would make any difference to me. I enjoy airy draws and I have no issue with stock airflow.![]()
