Oh I have my unicorn and Rob just made it that much more priceless by not doing another run of Stabilized Reo's :)

Its no secret I like them too but you can't beat the beauty of Mother Nature's natural wood. Here is a peek back in time.....

Well that's easy for you to say because that looks like a Stabilized Reo in your avatar :D

I just really love the shiny lacquered look of a stabilized Reo! Maybe Rob will do some after he is finished with the other kinds.

The Stabilized wood is tougher to work with. It is special ordered too.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Stabilized in the future. They have a good sales record.

I don't think I will buy another Stabilized. I like the real grain and colors better than the usual Stabilized colors.

Top row 5 from right, is that black palm!! That one stirs my soul, (playing reoviolin )

That was the first batch of Mini Woodvils.

This is the pic of the front:

That is the batch Robert introduced the Black Palm. I so wanted that all Black Palm! Tried to get it but it left my cart before I could pay. I got the Jatoba/Black Palm, Top row, first one from left, and was thrilled!

A better pic of my Mini Woodvil with friends!

Wood observation.

Left side first Mini Woodvil is Wenge door. Second is Black Palm door.

What I have noticed from comparing different Wenge and the Black Palm: The grain on the Wenge seems to be long lines with a lighter streak between. The grain on the Black Palm seems to be shorter lines with more of a tan color between. In hand there is a different feel. More pronounced on the Black Palm.

Truly beautiful! I love how the Jatoba brings out the lighter tones of the black palm door. Very smooove combo.

That must have been a busy night for you Karen!

I see the Jatoba/Black Palm (top left)
Something and KOA? (2nd row, 6 from left)
Maple burl? (1st row, 6 from left)

thanks for sharing

I've been sitting for over two hours at a steel yard in Canton OH thinking nothing could be more frustrating than this- until I looked up this thread on my smart phone. Thanks for reminding me of the year or so I've been waiting for a woodie. Now the steel yard doesn't seem so frustrating any more....

That Mini Woodvil sale night I picked up two. One for me and one for my daughter. She got a Wenge. I now own that one though.

2nd Row, 6th from left: I can see some grain pattern through the squonk hole. So I will say Ebony/Quilted Maple.

1st Row, 6th from left: Spalted Maple

I know how long you have been waiting and I am so glad you can now enjoy the build and sale!

The excitement grows!

Sounds like you will need to be tied down to the chair to stop running around! Your fingers might be a little jerky too!

I think I will stick with my Rum & Coke! My adrenalin is usually so high on sale night that I need a little "calm down"!!!!

Notice I didn't say "sounds great" and chalk it up to a win for me!
