Ah...someone who can relate. I won't know the medicine I'll be using till I see the doctor but now I have been taking Theophylline. I am glad you haven't had to quit vaping. Im guessing asthma and not bronchitis like me.

EDIT: lol

You were joking. I read your post too fast and thought it said albuterol.:oops::blush:

Lol. No I don't use a nebulizer, but I do have asthmatic relatives like most of us. I really, really hope you don't have to quit vaping though. I'm hoping I quit smoking before I did permanent damage (Dr. said I should try and quit before 28 and I quit at 26), but whatever damage I had done I can say is greatly improved. I can feel it when I ride bike or play racquetball. So with current empirical data I don't see why your doctor would say anything beyond just cut back on vaping, just in case. Many nebulizers meds have/are stimulants, so cutting down nic is definitely something to consider.

Anyway, buying a woodvil will have no effect on your lungs. Just what you do with it when you get it ;)

Even keeping my Ebony and Cocobolo inside they still will swell in high humidity.

I don't seem to have that problem with the other woods.

For durability Oak and Walnut are very good. Most of the regular woods are fine for everyday use and taking out. The more exotic woods might be more prone to damage if dropped multiple times.

It is a good idea to do a little research to help with your decision.

What about maple?
Also does Rob put what kind of wood it is in the description?

Yes, the description will state the wood/woods used.

I did not mention all the woods that are good. Just a couple that I know have good records of standing up to lots of use.

I don't see why Maple would be a problem at all!

The Burl woods can be more prone to cracking if dropped. It is just because of the nature of the wood.

wow, and here I was, all sure that I wanted a urethane'd mod, and sure that I wanted to add more coats to seal it up even further, but after hearing robs description of the difference, and seeing these pics too, I think it's just because I really don't even know better, or as Robert says, "don't know what I'd be missing" with one of the natural finishes with just tung oil. they really are beautiful and I can now see how that silky smooth natural wood may be the best feel in hand... hmmm decisions decisions :)

That finish is very durable isn't it?
Are any of your 18650's Maple?
Yes there are some maple mods . Maple is a soft wood so extra care is needed like if you have any e juice spills it needs to be cleaned maple will absorb juice easy then say a blood wood or ebony

Another bonus to a oiled mod is if you scratch it you can simply light sand it and apply a coat of oil and it looks brand new again . If you rub enough coats of oil into the mod you can actually polish it like glass
