Ughh...loving this

This is for you Shane. You probably have heard it before, but maybe not. This song was on the first pressing of the first album. They ran into some trouble because of a certain lick Neil played. The song had to be removed from the album, and luckily for them, they and another song to replace it, "For What's It's Worth."

Remember now, when we were seeing these bands, most of them had just released their first album or about to release an album. When we saw Floyd it was just the four of them, Syd Barrett, Nick Mason, Roger Waters & Richard Wright. They had just released The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Most of the bands were, believe it or not, opening acts for other bands.

Example: I was embarrassed standing in line at the Whiskey to buy tickets for a Friday & Saturday shows at the Whiskey headlined by The Strawberry Alarm Clock. They were a bubble gum band and the people in line with us must have been around 14 years old. The opening act was some band called Cream.

I've heard of the Cream :D
:facepalm:But I've also heard the Strawberry Alarm Clock too!

An off spring of the Buffalo Springfield. In 1970, Randy Meisner quit Poco to join Eagles, and was replaced by Timothy B. Schmit. Later Schmit would leave Poco and join Eagles. Guess Tim liked following Meisner. Interesting tid bit about Poco. They were originally called Pogo, but were sued by Walt Kelly, the creator of the comic strip Pogo. Poco changed their name and Mr. Kelly dropped his suit.

I'll push it forward a decade or so for ya wandering. I am sure you have heard of The Eurythmics, but never heard anything from Longdancer. This was the band Dave Stewart was in before forming the Eurythmics. I was turned onto them because they opened a show for Lou Reed at The Pantages Theater. It was truly the first time I heard a band sing like the Mormon Tabernacle Choir live. They were all under 18 years old at the time.
