That response definitley makes me think that you are Jon's buisness partner. This is a forum that intended for the discussion of all that e-cigs entail. If you have a problem with the subject of this thread, go focus on another thread. I give a **** about that stupid billboard because it is going to F things up for all e-vapers out there, including you. If you have a problem with my desire to inform the people on this forum about this issue, than you can take that concern to SJ. Nothing about this thread has been interveined on by the powers that be, so i would tell you to just focus on other threads and move on.
Yeah, thats what I meant to say. Would have to but my zealot issues got in the way. I'm Kooky" like that. I should probably get help for that.

Holy Vapors, Batman! I had to go check out the other forum to see what the fuss was about and saw a hugely volatile conversation.

This is why I stick to the very educational information on this site and the recommended suppliers.

I'm hoping Jon and his company do not bring the wrath of the gov't down on e-cigs. That would be a sad, sad day. :(

Volatile is a good word for it.

I don't know about anyone else but I feel almost like e-cigarettes have reprieved me from a death sentence ....(even if I was the one killing myself) and now I am scared stiff they will ban them......I am scared stiff that if we say too much they will ban them....I am scared stiff if we say too little they will ban them......I am scared stiff that if we say the wrong words they will ban them.....almost anything we say or do could be the wrong thing because unfortunately the people with the power to 'ban' things often do it simply because they can.

I have a fear that when the use of the Ecig starts showing up in decreased tax revenue and also decreased revenue from the tobacco industry, there will be a large effort to tax and control these. The government will tax them to death and the tobacco industry will spend millions trying to either buy up excisting suppliers businesses or spend that money on legislation to prohibit the use.

The billboard in question

billboard.jpg

is a challenge to President Obama to quit tobacco and switch to vaping... with this guy's overpriced product. In reality, however, it's simply a quick-buck promotional effort... a play for free publicity... that's the impression I'm getting. All of the guy's protestations that he's seeking to lift the e-cig into legitimacy and attract positive attention from the very federal villians who have the power to regulate, tax or ban outright our habit seem to me just deflection. The guy's agenda is pretty clear based on his actions, statements and above all prices. He wants to make a lot of money while he still can and damn the future consequences for the vaping industry and vapers everywhere.

$100 for a super-mini? Seriously? :nah:

or tell me what the billboard said?

Yes. It all began over at ecigforum.com a couple of days ago. They are the threads started by "The Safe Cig" guy named Jon.

I agree. The E-Cig (in my opinion) is a gift from God. It is my favorite technological advancement so far of this new century. I am certainly going to speak up if someone threatens my access to it like that dude with the billboard!

Another anecdotal "huzzah" for the health benefit of the e-cig. I was amazed how quickly my lungs cleared and my breathing improved.

I just wish we could get some more hard scientific evidence of the safety and efficacy of vaping over smoking... you know, without the practice being banned until the positive results are in.

In a house.
I read all of the first thread over on ecigforum.com when it was going on and i think they've got a very strange Mod on that forum. The The Safe Cig guy Jon was allowed to say anything he wanted but most of your posts mrwade01 were censored.

I know you were a bit irrate and I being British would have said "I Say, Old Chap, steady on "

If it's any consolation in my opinion the Jon person is either a ...... or a Liar and probably both and a first class Blaggard who may have severely damaged our Cause.

Thanks for noticing that Dee. It was not only that but he also threatened to ban me. I have not read anything in that thread since, and will not. I'm not saying anything bad about the mod over there mind you. Its his house if you will. I have no intention of ever posting anything beyond my success with the e-cig in his forum. I am often "creative" when it comes to expressing myself and will not submit to being censored or threatened like that again.
Thant Jon guy or yes, as I stooped to calling him, Shortbus, has done all of us a great disservice. One that people should be very passionate about! Over there, it really seemed like that needed passion was unwelcome, not just mine but anyone who really raised a voice. I genuinely appreacheate your comment!

This forum needs this discussion because this forum is THE dominant e-cig forum on the Web. When it was down, minor forums got increased views from ECF refugees. Now that ECF is back, the traffic here is increasing (you can see the numbers near the end of the home page) and I bet traffic is dropping off at the other forums.

That topic came up elsewhere, was seen by a few, but needed to be seen by the many who frequent ECF. As far as I'm concerned, this is THE e-smoking forum.

I did post about this on the other forum. I even remember how his girlfriend died of lung cancer and he wants to save the world now from 5.4-million deaths by selling e-cigs at inflated prices, and I wrote: The nobility of an intention does not excuse the ignorance of an action.

His action, in ad words and inflammatory billboards, hurts us all.

You hit the nail right on the head, Tropical Bob. Passion without Wisdom is Foolishness!
