It makes a world of difference in flavor. I used a small pair of fingernail clippers to trim mine. Just be careful. One slip and you'll ruin the silicone cup.

Thanks for the tip! :thumb:
I used a set of nailclippers like you suggested, and it worked perfectly! :D
The trickiest part was folding the coil cup inside out to get at the lip without splitting it, but it worked just fine. :)

I just received my tanks. I was a bit surprised by how much wider these are than the "other" tank. The lexan is much thicker as well so I don't see these cracking ever! I do have one question that I guess I should have asked earlier. Are these made for Clearomizers? The hole seems too small to fit a cut down Standard Metal E2 carto.

Ok. I read the thread over and saw where a hammer and a wood dowel were the preferred tools for inserting the carto's. It works just fine and they do fit. The tight fit is probably a very good thing because, really, these E2 carto's last forever (or until the wick starts to deteriorate). I've had several that have lasted me months and still work just fine. The diameter of these look like they'd fit flush with a Silver Bullet. On my Provari it is a bit wider than the mod but looks just fine. The more I use this, the more I love it! It is built much stronger than any other tank I've used. So far no leaks, just big beautiful vapor!!!

Pete54, trying to not look too dumb here, did you just put the end of the wood dowel on the threaded end of the CE2 and tap it in?? I am wondering about hurting the threaded end of the CE2.
Actually, I used a small screwdriver, a copper tube (used for slide guitar), a large washer (make sure the hole in the washer is large enough for the E2 to go through) and a hammer. I you're going to hammer in an E2, you need to suspend the delrin over something so that the E2 can come out the bottom (unless I'm missing something here.)

I then stacked them like this and hammered the tip of the screwdriver until it seated flush with the bottom.

As far as removing the E2, I plan on reversing the screwdriver and hammering it out. I hope that helps and, of course, if anyone has a better way to do this, let us all know!

I wouldn't be banging that stuff around. This stuff is machined so well I put it all together by hand...I screw the CE2 on my Ego Battery....then I slide the bottom cap over the CE2 and push the bottom cap down on the CE2....keeping it slightly on the high side. Then I take a wooden plug that I drilled a hole in. Remove from the Ego battery. I set the bottom cap in the wooden plug and push the tank on. Then I put the rubber cap on the ceramic cup. Then I press the top cap on....by hand. Then I screw the whole assembly on the Ego battery again and slowly twist and push downward until the rubber cap in the ceramic cup is seated in the top delrin cap......not to much, you don't wanna choke the wicks.

To take it apart I put it on the Ego battery again. I have a something that looks like a plastic prybar....used in the auto industry to pry against painted parts without damaging them. I use that to pry the top cap off.....slowly working my way around it till it pops off. After that I can pull the tank off by hand, the bottom cap off by hand then unscrew the CE2 and it's done.

I hope I explained that so everyone can understand it......that's my method. No damaged parts, no banging things around.

I can say with a high degree of certainty that there was no way I could have put my CE2 in by hand. No way. Maybe mine were a little tighter. I don't know....

@Pete54..Thanks for the detailed explanation along with the pictures. I'm with you, there is NO way I can put my CE2 in by hand. Not gonna happen!

@strprswpr..thanks for explaining they way you are able to do it.

All input is appreciated.

Maybe Jonboy can jump in here!!
