Anyone know why the side screw fill hole is not standard - or at least an option - on these when ordering? This looks like such a great idea.

Lots of us have been adding them. Some people dont like the look of them. The Lav tank is a lot easer to refill then mant others. I have my other tanks with a screw in the so I did it to my Wife's Lava.

is that due to chat thingie ?
Don't really know. The 1/4" brass self tapping saddle valve works well for punching the cartos. It makes it a one person job versus having to have someone hold the dang carto while using a punch and hammer. I never purchased a jig. It works better than the wire stripper with no additional dents in your carto. Our local Home Depot was out (go figure) so hubby picked one up at a local hardware store.

I think she was getting juice down the center hole on refill and not blowing it out. That or puncturing the center straw is the only way my Lava has leaked. I fill the carto sparingly or not at all, put the white cap on, fill the tank and then put the tank top on as shown in the videos. I also blow out the center onto a paper towel before I put it back on my SB. No leaking. I've had worse luck with attys leaking than this tank.
