quick update on running DC shorties (aka regular) in the Lava tank:

So I was lucky enough that my local vendor (and buddy! - E-Cig City here in Laguna Beach) had a couple and he pretty much just gave them to me to try out (of the 1.5ohm variety)... i used it last night and i'm a little on the fence with them. they do fit perfectly in the Lava tank so there's no fitting issues and didn't seem to get that hot even with chain vaping... TH is a little better than Boges 2.0, but i found the vapor production a little lacking on the DCs (compared to Boges that is, don't get me wrong, you still get lots of vapor)... also, it seem to mute my juices more when was running them on Provari at 3.9-4.0v... switching it over to my GG made the experience a lot better, but it was a much cooler vape. i was using organic juices at 100% VG, which hearing from some people, might not be the best kind to run on a DC.

long story short, for an extra $.50-$1.00 more per carto, i don't think they are worth it. i thought about ordering the 3.0 DCs, but based on my experience with the 1.5, i imagine running at even higher voltage will make my juices tasteless...

Thanks Snoopy, good review. The dccs really shine at 5V or higher but with standard type juice. Good to know that they do fit and still function after being punched. I've only used the XL dualies and EMDCCs so far, always went back to the Boge 2 & 3s though for some reason. So you weren't seeing any leaking or wicking problems with them in the tank as reported by some?

no, i didn't experience any of those issues... but then again, those issues usually only happen after multiple refills, at least they did for me when i was using XL DCs in Map tanks...

my Provari error-ed out when i tried to run the 1.5ohm at 5.0v... :p

So I've heard, protection. Do you have another VV without that "feature" ?

no, but i didn't think i needed to... i pushed it to 4.5 and was starting to get a burnt taste plus no flavor at that point.

It's your juice I think. I'll order a few next week and fill with some non-organic 70/30 PG/VG juice and give it some power and see what happens to it. It should be fine at 5V that way. Unlike the Boge LRs the dualies can take a lot of heat if the juice doesn't burn. We'll see what happens at that time. I'm not a big fan of HV but once in awhile I like the kick. Thanks again for the review!
