Thanks guys. This is what I was curious about.

SD, I meant the tubing. I generally like glass better than plastic. I use a glass water bottle etc. I was just curious if he was/is considering using glass for the tubes.

Oh yeah, what is the other material he is using for the other stuff? I mean the cool/pretty parts.

I can tell just from the photos that these are really well crafted. In general I like handmade handcrafted things. You can tell they take time to make. Not being someone who is good working with their hands I always appreciate that kind of stuff.

I get the sliding issue thing. That would be annoying. I am assuming he has a lip of something that prevents that in these. Maybe I saw that in a video somewhere.

Most are inlace acrylester or Rhinpolastic which are acrylic blends. The stone tanks are TruStone which apparently is made from a "crushed stone/gem powder" in resin.

Afternoon Lavacorps. Stuck at work again.

Booooooo to being stuck at work. That will be me later tonight, but I won't be able to check in. What do you do? (sorry if you've mentioned it before... I'm still putting names and other info about people to their avatars :) )

Mornin' Lavas. Well its noon, but I just cant seem to drag myself outta bed today.:confused:

I have yet to hold a lava tank in my hands, but I can already appreciate the quality, and I will tell you why. "I am a pool player, Tara, that's what I do." (can anyone name the movie?) Really though pool is my passion. I have owned many pool cues, and I currently have 5, I think. I will no longer buy a mass produced cue. Every cue I own was handmade, one at a time, by a craftsman. The cost of such cues can be anywhere from $300 to $2000+. Many people ask why you would want to spend that much on a cue. The quality difference is obvious, as the cuemaker hand selects the woods, and each one can take several years to make, as the woods require many turns on the lathe to ensure they will stay straight, and the construction process is key to the quality. Could I play just as well with a $100 store bought cue, or even a house cue? Probably. But I appreciate the functional work of art that my time and patience and extra $$ will get me. In addition a custom cue maker can tailor a cue to each individual's playing style. Certain cuemaker's cues are extremely hard to get, and are highly coveted by serious players and collectors.

I look at Jon's Tanks in the same manner. They are functional works of art that were handmade one at a time, guaranteeing a quality product that will function well, last forever, and also hold resale value, although the last one is a moot point for me, as i will likely never sell. They are hard to get, coveted by many vapers, and very collectible.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Is a saddle valve not good enough?

-AJ

The saddle valve will eventually warp your cartos because the "needle" part is not made for multiple uses. I use the COV carto punch for punching the hole and then use the saddle valve for making the hole bigger - because I use all VG joose and some of them are pretty thick. Alot of people use two holes, but I had issues with flooding with two holes (user error on the punch part I'm sure), so started doing it this way. No deformed cartos and my thick VG wicks perfectly!
