You fish from a Kayak? I'm in the Sound all the time. I always see Kayaks fishing Bass. I fish all over the Western Sound.

Yeah........... allot in the kayak. I grew up fishing Oyster Bay area. Used to run a small cuddy, but never usually roamed further west than Manhasset bay or so.

Some really nice rocks for bass on your side.

Do you know the Cap. that used to run out of Howard Beach? I think he co-capts out of Brooklyn now, but he's a biker so just wonderin.

The only guy in Brooklyn I know is Capt, Vinnie on the Karen Ann.

My stompin grounds for Bass are all around Manhasset, Heampstead, Little Neck and the whole Westchester side to City Island. My terrace faces City Island and The Throggs Neck Bridge.

J-Bay in May is on fire....I've pulled some cows out of there. My biggest is a 37 lb Bass I nailed in Manhassett. I caught him in the middle of the summer, hot as hell, 12 noon, dead low tide and bright and sunny....All the wrong conditions for the my biggest bass. And I got him on a popper in 2 feet of water. Blind casted into some peanut Bunker and got him on some super light gear.

That's awesome. But, that's the way it usually happens, in the oddest places. I fluke fish allot too, but my biggest and only 10lber was on the kayak, during a tourney....... in Virginia, in the back bay where they usually only have hand sized fluke, and on a 1/8 spro, with no spearing/squid. And..... we get more doormats up here then in VA, even offshore. Go figure.

And yes........ J-Bay rocks in May. I fish it late April into June before I switch to the sound.

Oh, are we talking jargon? I ran hard into the cones and scrubbed the brakes on the big end and broke him out. :D
