I mean…i use that technique to fill my tanks too……just wondering if that might be worth trying. If the lava tanks are really that tight, I could see how sliding the carto would be a huge PITA.

I find that blowing out the carto before putting it back on my mod, helps too. I also keep the white plug cap on the carto after I fill the carto. I find it helps to keep extra juice out of the carto. I've never had a Lava Tank be the problem behind a leaking tank. It has always been the carto or poor punching skills on my part.

If your experiencing tight tanks...try the Food Grade Silicone Grease. It works well. Jon's tanks are known for their tight tolerances....I guess perfection has it's price....LOL

Although I hate to admit when Dino is right I had one bugger tank and the lubricant has made all the difference in the world. I have 8 tanks and only one wood tank that is a challenge...It took me a month or so to get used to them..but these tanks are very easy to use.

One other note..like Wolf said... I always blow them out once filled..usually get a drop or two but better to blow it out into a paper towel than flood the carto or taste it
