T - I don't recall receiving any filler material with my CE2 Rev. 4s? What color was it? I wonder if I threw it out?

Its not marked as such. If you look at the directions they show cleaning spills/drips from the cartomizer after filling using the small rectangle of white absorbent material provided. But its poly so can be used as a filler just as described.

Their little, thin, white pads about 3/4" square. Some companies were selling Rev.3's as Rev. 4's ... I think maybe they made some little mod but I don't know what it was. But if you didn't get the pads you didn't get the real Rev.4's.

What happens is when you put that pad around the cup it improves the wicking tremendously. Real big difference!

I just looked at my blue foam and I think it would be too thick. If someone can come up with an alternative to the white pads, I'd sure be interested in hearing about it. I have a considerable number of these to modify.

I just checked an unopened box. There definitely isn't a white pad. This really annoys me since I bought them from a reputable supplier who claimed that these were true Rev. 4s!

T, I forgot to mention that I tried that the other night. It didn't make much of an improvement for me. They do seem to work great for dripping though - once I "waste" a ml of juice filling it up.

Gosh, I'm sitting here vaping some Wyatt Earp on one and when I exhale the vapor is so thick I can't read the monitor. Serious!

And that's how Max/Boro is when I vape it on anything but the E2 ;)

...unless I direct drip on it, that is. Strange how hardware and juices can behave differently across timezones, idnit???

Well, I dunno. I guess I should have told you that when I couldn't read the monitor that I only went to 6th Grade and when they tried to make me go back there for the third time I decided to go sit and think of ways I could get rich. Still sitting and still can't read real good.

Monitor? When I was in high school a monitor wasn't something you read, but someone you avoided for fear that you'd be caught in the halls without a pass.

Regardless, I'd say it was time well spent. I don't know about Texas, but in Massachusetts all the grades after 6 are overrated and in fact require human sacrifices in honor of Teddy Kennedy as tuition.

I'm going to have to try the CE2 mod with the filler mentioned here because …

I tried with the Wyatt Earp in the Joye and about the same issue as with the RY5. First vape great, 2nd refill already loosing flavor, by 5th refill I can barely taste anything. Even weaker than with the CE2.

Am I the only one having issues with cartomizers, especially the Joye ones? And based on past experience the darker colored flavors seem to be the problematic ones.

I had a little problems with them at first. The first Joye 510 carto I filled with RY4 I tried to vape almost right away and I just got a burnt taste that never went away and I vaped through it till pretty much empty cause I didn't wanna waste it but I tossed that carto after only 1 fill. I tried again about 2 days ago and let it sit an hour before touching it and I'm getting big clouds and great flavor. I've refilled it several times since and always give it at least 20 min to sit and it's still working great.

I'm having the same problem with the harsh instant burning with the Joye's. I'll try letting it sit like you did and see if that helps.

As a side note, posts by TexasT are going to give me a heart attack from laughter. :p

Gosh, these "handles" we use on here. I almost never know whether to call someone darlin or sir. But anyhow, there's not hardly a Thread on this Forum that I don't get off topic on. Start up there in the sticky's and just follow me on down through. We'll have some fun!

On those Joye 510 cartos, I fill them with a syringe, but if they start running a little dry before I think they should, I bottom fill them with the condom method and give them a spin in my palms. Most of them just do what their supposed to do and I like 'em a lot.

I don't think I've ever had to let mine sit, but I tend to follow Coz's method and slightly overfill and suck out the extra from the vent chamber. It certainly can't hurt to let it sit though.

I've also found that you can get a bit more life out of them if, before refilling, you drip straight PG into the vent chamber and blow it out. When I do this, I see little flecks of carbon on the tissue that I blew it out on.

I tried the eGo cartos this week too. I've been getting slightly less vapor, but they're very much similar to the regular 510's. I've already gone through 2 of them though. One because I put it in my pants pocket while I was doing some plumbing work and it melted. The other because I screwed it on too tight and the threads twisted off of the atty.

I'm still using the E2 cartos as drippers, and they're still working great - I haven't had to trash any of them. I don't use them often though.

Decided to give another one a try and let it sit an hour before I used it. Much better this time around with the RY5. Filled 2 others with different flavors also. But more mellow not as overpowering as the RY5. Unfortunately I found the same problem as some else on this thread. I can taste the plastic of the shell on those. I'm guessing its there with the RY5 but that flavor is strong enough to hide it. So I'm still preferring the CE2 over these except for dark colored flavors. Even with the filler material trick mentioned here the CE2 seems to loose flavor but only with very dark colored liquids. I'm guessing some common component of those flavors has more of a tendency to leave a residue behind as it vaporizes and the CE2 as designed just can't handle that buildup well and ends up loosing flavor. Hasn't happened with the dozen or so rev 3 or 4 in 510, 808 and 401 threading I've tried with flavors with colors ranging from clear through a middling dark orange.

I got my 510 cartos yesterday, but I can't figure out how to fill them! I broke the seal with a syringe and tried to fill one very slowly with about .9 mm of liquid. Almost all of it ran out of the battery end. I gave up after wasting almost 2 mm of my beloved RY5. :( I just tried it again and even turned the carto on the side so that the liquid couldn't run out. As soon as I put it upright, all the liquid run out again.

I know there was a thread on this, but I can't find out.

Suggestions anyone?
