Joye eCigs. Outsourced products or FAKES? Need company & product info.

Hi....I just purchased my first "Genuine Joye Brand eGo" starter kit for $69.99. I was told by the salesman in this small local shop that it was very real and genuine and a Joye brand. Once I got it home, I looked thru the box and noticed that it was not a Joye, but an EK-eGO-A brand. I google EK-eGO-A and found it is a Chinese company and I can order 10 of these units for $17.00each, thru Alibaba.com. The instructions are written with poor grammar and do not explain the product, some of their instructions don't even match this model! It mentions a warrant, but no where on the box, item, or instruction book does it mention where I would send it for warranty or what the warranty is!

I called the salesman back and voiced my displeasure. He informed me that anything that has the Joye name is a fake. Joye does not use their name on any products, ever! He said Joye never got a patent and was immediately copied by everyone, and still claims mine is genuine and was outsourced by the 3 guys from the Midwest who are "Joye". W#hen I asked how I would know if it was a real Joye, he said...the difference is in the way the wire mesh is woven.

I just do not believe him!!! Outsourced does not mean someone else using your name. If it were outsourced, they would be making it for Joye. Why wouldn't Joye use their own name?

What is the story behind the Joye company? Any info as to how to reach them? Anyone have a phone number?

Yes, it worked. But before I could use it, I immediately had to buy a drip tip for it. Aren't most ecig starter kits ready to go?

Help!

I can't answer all of your questions but here is the link to their website http://www.joyetech.com/

and here is information about fakes Electronic Cigarette, E-Cigarette, Elektronische Zigarette, Cartridge, eZigar

I do not understand why you "had" to buy a drip tip for it. Are you saying the kit did not come with any carts to use with the attys? Of course if you were looking to direct drip you would need a drip tip but if your kit has carts for the attys then it was ready to vape. If not you should find another supplier. Actually you should do that anyway as you will save a bunch of money and frustrations dealing with ecf approved vendors that are listed here.

I purchased my Joye Ego from Liberty Flights and was told it was a "Joye" ego. They're a huge supplier in the US and UK and have no reason to doubt that it's a Joye brand. At the time I made the purchase, there was a 6 month warranty on the batteries (forget what it was for the complete kit). Any time I had a problem, I contacted Liberty Flights and they immediately sent me a replacement even before receiving the defective item. Batteries now appear to have a warranty of 2 months. Don't know if this is Joye or Liberty Flight that offer the warranty. I think there are a few 'authorized suppliers' of Joye brands but many suppliers carry Joye products.

If you aren't comfortable with the kit and think you got something other than what you wanted, see if you can return it. Liberty Flights is a good supplier and there are many other registered suppliers on the board that you can get Joye products from. Cignot is also excellent.

No, drip tips are just an accessory item and I've never seen them included with a kit. Most kits come with atomizer and either blank of filled cartridges, a USB charger and sometimes a wall charger. Some kits come with cartomizers or tanks instead of the atomizers and cartridges.

I would say it's an ego clone. Not always necessarily a bad thing but I'd have an issue with someone first telling me they were selling me a 'genuine Joye ego' and then when you questioned it, you were told there is no such thing.

Well which is it? Some non-Joye egos are fine. I have the Riva ego that's great. Also have the smoke teck brand from MV which is..sort of OK. But I was told in advance what I was purchasing. The price of your ego is a bit on the higher side but most brick and mortar stores are. They have overhead plus the convenience of purchasing from a store in the area is what people like.

If you don't return it I would definitely get something from them in writing regarding what type of warranty you have and what you have to do in case you have a problem.

Joye is Joyetech in China. The 510 and Ego products were (I think) Invented by Janty and manufactured by Joyetech.

Then there are a lot of clone models too but usually just called 510 or Ego (or some totally different name like Vgo or Kgo or Riva 510 etc) - i.e. not called "Joye". One vendor I saw calls their "Joye style" (I would take that to mean not Joye). Anyway some clones are great and some are not.

Volcano Ecigs claims to use real Joye product but they have custom logos on them - don't know if that is what you mean by outsourced.
