Well thats for the TCR thing ... I use 316L from UD, and on my reuleaux rx and x cube mini i have to use a tcr of 120 to get any flavor/clouds. 90 just does not work. SO this might be correct that the default ss316 setting might be for something else. The 316L from UD is the first SS i tried, and I like it. Before the update it worked perfectly on the reuleaux, now i just use the custom setting. Getting myself a cubis anyway and seeing how it will vape

need a solution its been bugging me.

my cuboid seems to change from TC SS316 to power mode at times.

using steam crave aromamizer or any atty, it detects the atty proper and vape great than a few hrs later it auto swap to power mode, fiddle with it trying to reset it. removing atty, press fire button a few times, put it back, if does not work rinse and repeat till it work.

same for my evic vtc mini. anyone got the same issues and a fix for this?

Question for those of you with both a Cubis and either a Cubiod or VTC Mini.
When using the 0.5Ω SS coil, I get a very good vape using the SS316 setting. If I use the manual TCR setting of 0092 (which I'm told is the correct TCR for SS316) the vape is almost non existent. Same wattage and temp are used. Can anyone else verify this?
Thanks.

Same here, and the other posts after yours. The SS 316 preset works ok with the Cubis prebuilt SS coils, but NO vapor using a custom TCR of both 0088, and 0091. I don't have any other SS coils to test with, as I'm mostly a titanium user. Good news is using the new Cubis RBA, my 24 gauge Unkaman titanium build; 3mm ID, 7 wraps, .22 ohms, matches a custom TCR of 0366, on the VTC Mini, as well as when swapped onto my VS DNA200, using the same TCR. Not a fan of temperamental SS wire anyway, so I'll just use up the included prebuilt SS coils and be done with them.

So far the RBA with my TI build is working great. I also have a few boxes of prebuilt Nickle coils to play with, bought those only because I did not know the RBA would be available so soon.

Do wish the RBA was more like a real deck, like in the Subtank Mini RBA, but so far the leak resistant feature of the tank is a good trade off for me, too many times I've had a lot of juice dumps from my STM's, especially when left overnight with low juice levels, a complaint I've seen reported by many as well. I bought two of the new Kanger TopTank, top fill versions of the STM, but have yet to even open them, going to live with the Cubis for awhile with the RBA, and give it a good chance to overtake all my STM's, we'll see.

I am so right there with you! I like single coil as well and usually go with .6ohm at 22-23 watts. I've been on a STM for quite some time as well. I keep looking for a replacement and can't find one. I just bought a OBS T-VTC and thought it would replace my STM because it held 6ml. Problem is the rebuildable is sooo tiny it's quite a challenge to build on. Especially because I like to use a 3mm ID for coils. I'd just like to find something that has no plastic tank that's rebuildable and single coil with a true 5ml or better capacity. You'd think that shouldn't be THAT hard to find.
I hear ya there. The closest thing I've seen is the hurricane. The clone is reasonably priced and comes with SS tank and plastic tank. My latest experiment has been with the tobeco super tank mini running the vaporesso ceramic coils .9 ohm. I'm pretty impressed so far.

Thanx Mac.....I have two on the way. Hope the flavor is good.

While flavor is quite subjective, so far the Cubis with vertical titanium build in RBA beats my Tron tanks with the rebuildable CLR coils and just as good or better then my STM's using the same juices and settings. I'm sure there are more flavorful tanks out there, but I'll compromise for being able to put it in my pocket or bag, and not have a surprise puddle of leaked juice. Like the SubTank, it's nice to be able to toss in a $2 prebuilt coil when in a hurry or lazy, but most of the time I'll stick with my Titanium builds in the RBA. As I posted above, you can dryburn and pulse the RBA, which is a plus.

Joyetech website doesn't say what the wire is.

Indeed, as I found out when trying to find this information as well. Really lame, not to list the materials! I tried different settings, and it dropped out of TC, so I'm assuming the spare prebuilt coils are Kanthal.

The 0.5 and 1.0 are stainless steel. The 1.5 is Kanthal.

As for stainless I find that the TCR for 430 SS works the best. That is 0.00138. The coils are advertised as 316L, but I am pretty sure they aren't. They are stainless, but probably 430 or something similar.

We are talking about the spare premade coils that come with the RBA, just the WIRE! NOT the complete spare atomizers, I know what they are, they are fairly clear in telling you what material the wire is in those.

It's either nichrome80 or Kanthal. I've noticed most prebuilt coils that come with RBA's are nichrome. You can compare the coil to steam engine to find out.
