Well my infatuation with the cubis has run its course. It's a well made tank and a great concept but I'm just not finding a coil configuration that suits me. I'll stick with my serpents till the next best tank peaks my interest. I'll be posting a couple in the classifieds soon

Kind of a hybrid. I'm more of a DTL but not really sub ohm. I build between 1-1.2 ohm like to run around 25w.

This is my sweet spot too, and sadly there are so few coil setups for this range. The search for my ideal coil/tank combo continues...

Mine too and for this reason I tend to lean more towards rebuildables. I haven't found a commercial coil that suits me. Add to that the fact that I prefer a single coil to duals so that limits the field. Guess that's why I've been stuck on the STM for so long. I did find a winner with the serpent and it is currently number 1 in my rotation. I have 4 of them and essentially retired my STM's Not sure why I'm still looking...lol

I am so right there with you! I like single coil as well and usually go with .6ohm at 22-23 watts. I've been on a STM for quite some time as well. I keep looking for a replacement and can't find one. I just bought a OBS T-VTC and thought it would replace my STM because it held 6ml. Problem is the rebuildable is sooo tiny it's quite a challenge to build on. Especially because I like to use a 3mm ID for coils. I'd just like to find something that has no plastic tank that's rebuildable and single coil with a true 5ml or better capacity. You'd think that shouldn't be THAT hard to find.

Well...the Spinfuel reviewer seems to like it...

When you look at the excellent materials the tank is made with, the innovative ‘cup’ design tank and the invisible airflow slots at the top of the tank, as well as the incredible low price of just $19.99, and the unrivaled vapor production and flavor output, and compare it to every other sub-ohm tank on the market today, you will not find another tank that offers so much for so little.

While the tank is not perfect, it is the best performer at $19.99, and I would put it up against any other tank, including the UWell Crown, the Goliath, the SMOK TFV4, and even the new Freemax Scylla. All great tanks, but they just cannot stand up to the innovation and price of the Joyetech Cubis.

Have both the cubis and cuboid. The 1.5 and 1.0 coils have too tight of a draw for my taste, the. 5 is much better. Burned my first coil, found these like to be primed longer than I normally do. At first I didn't like the tank, switched it to my d2 in power mode around 25 watts, it's not bad but not stellar. Switched back to the cuboid after running a few tanks of juice thru it, 25 watts, ss temp mode and have to say I'm impressed, great flavor and not bad clouds, nothing like a crown but this sips juice compared to a crown, that's a big plus, and uses far less battery, and its a short little guy, perfect for night at the pool hall, dinner with wife, when I just want something that works, won't need filling, and doesn't cloud up the room.

Like to find a good TCR value to test, but I'd imagine since they were made for each other the preset ss should be spot on.

The cuboid has become my favorite mod, might pick up another. Own a few dna200,dna40,evic mini and vt,d2 mods , and this beats them all for ease of use, and the best tc vape yet . nickel works right out of the box, so does ss on my crown, so much so that I'm ditching nickel altogether in favor of to me a better tasting vapor with ss. I like my vapor shark 200,I like fiddling with settings, but trying to get ss to work consistently is a major pain, the cuboid just set and go.

Going to test other tanks later today and see how it holds up, curious how the tfv4 will work with nickel, might even waste a tri coil and see how fast it drains the cuboid, love that tank but it's a battery and juice monster with the tri!!!

Ok, so I bought a pack of new coils for my Cubis and was playing around with the TCR values some more. I have came to the conclusion that the Cubis "316L" coils are really 430 SS. I thought at first they might be 304 (TCR = .00105), but I tried that and it's still far too anemic on the DNA-200.

However, the TCR curve for 430 works perfectly and "feels" correct to my taste based on my preferred 450F vaping temp. The TCR for 430 is .00138, which another poster in this thread already tried and said worked well for him.

I have no problem vaping on 430, but I just wish Joyetech would be honest and call it what it is. I really think this is why the Evic VTC's default SS 316 mode doesn't work on people's own RTA/RDA builds. It is actually tuned for 430.

I suspect Joyetech isn't the only company calling their coils "316" when they are a cheaper grade of SS.
