The only possible things I can think of to advise you, would be...

1. Make sure the base under the coil is dry.
2. Tighten the coil into the base tightly, ensuring the gaskets are all in place.
3. After topping up and re-assembling, I'll keep it upside down and twist a tissue into the chimney to remove any excess spill over liquid.
4. After putting the dt back on blow gently through it and if liquid stiil comes through the afc into a tissue you probably have a bad or missing seal.
5. When the tank is less than 1/2 full it is more likely to leak, stay topped up.

You may do these things already, either you and I are in fact missing something.
I might expect to see leakage on rebuilt coils or even on a tank that was misfired until it was dry and it overheated enough to damage a seal. Or it is left out in the cold. That's all I got.
There really isn't a lot to these things.
Hope something here is of value to you. Cheers.

Edit...one last thing, under the coil, in the base, there is a screw for adjusting the 510 positive pin, if it has been adjusted up or is out of position it may be preventing the coil from seating correctly. Now thats it.

Thanks for the ideas. It's got me mystified as well because both tanks are leaking and you're right, there's really not much complexity in there. The battery connector stays dry the whole time and it doesn't appear to be coming out of the mouthpiece area. It doesn't help that my eyesight sucks but I'll clean them out later and basically start again.

Couple more pictures.

Despite small size eGo1 is an excellent performer, my only concern is materials in coils.

Hi guys, I think I need you advice. I received my eGo ONE tank with the single 1 Ohm coil and slapped it onto my iStick 30W. I was experimenting with various voltages between 3.7V and 4.2V, and all was going well, at least for a few hours. One minute it was vaping just fine, then all of a sudden, the coil flooded pretty thoroughly. So, I performed all the usual tricks, took it apart, cleared the excess juice from the coil and the AFC portion, checked all the seals, cleaned up the chimney and drip tip, verified that there was juice left in the tank, and made sure everything was screwed together correctly. It nearly instantly flooded again. Took it all apart again, cleaned everything up, and then assembled the tank again, but without the drip tip. I actually was able to peer down the chimney and watch as the juice seeped through the coil and flooded into the central hole and the AFC portion. So, guys, I'm vexed. Is it just a bad coil? Do all these ONE tanks leak like this once the juice level gets down to the top of the window? If so, then I think this just blows. Or, is this the nature of these supposedly OCC coils? At any rate, I'm back on the Nautilus Mini now with it's ceramic coil, and it is working flawlessly.

Hey navigator2011, sorry to hear it's not working for you. With the 0.5ohm coil and wide open AFC I haven't had any issues at all. Realizing that this device is touted to be "the one device for everyone" it should be able to withstand the restricted airflow of the 1 ohm coil along with the AFC not being fully open without blowing out the stuffing/wick. Though it seems from your post that this may be exactly whats happened.

Replacing the the coil with another 1ohm coil will probably net you the same result. Don't know for sure. If you want to continue using it you may need to change your technique and/or the coil resistance.
I'm not trying to say you've done anything wrong, but simply that the tank may have some limitations.
Which it shouldn't as it is advertised as being "the one". Perhaps the vendor can fix you up with a new coil if you let them know whats happened. Cheers.

Hi Hitmetwice, thanks for your thoughts. I am familiar with your previous posts helping others with leaking issues, which is why I wanted point out that I did all the recommended things before posting. What I didn't mention, however, is that I did vary the AFC all over the place from wide open to a little bit restrictive, just to see. At all settings, the air flow was greater than my Mini Nautilus on the biggest hole. I know it's not an issue of air flow because after the third time reassembling the tank, I watched the juice just seep through the coil and into the base, without any me drawing at all. At this point, I'm trying to decide whether I want to invest in 5 coils, just to see if one was bad. Does it sound like the coil is just a leaker?

The vendor that sold me this tank has always been great, and taken care of me, so I don't want to bug them about a $3 coil, especially since they are all the way across the country from me--seems a bit silly to do that.

So, at this point, I am unsure what I want to do.

I feel that if the draw was tight due to low air flow and a considerably hard draw is taken it may have damaged the cotton by pulling in too much juice instead of a balance of air with it. It might have caused the cotton to pull away from the holes in the housing of the coil.

I'm probably barking up the wrong tree here, but your description of watching the liquid flow into the base makes me think it's damaged. I might try one more new coil but if it's another 1 ohm chances are pretty good the same thing will happen imo. If you like a tighter draw and are willing to give the "one" another chance, I'd say try the 0.5 ohm and shut down the AFC to 1/2. That said, even half way might not be enough airflow. My son has been using the 1 ohm for over 3 weeks now, same coil, but the AFC is wide open.

I'm a newb with these too but think the low ohm stuff needs a lot more airflow to work properly so might not work as well for mouth to lung hitters. I've had to adjust to more of a throat hitter with these as opposed to mouth to lung or straight lung hits. YMMV. Cheers:vapor:

On this page Joyetech eGo ONE there is a pic of the coil head.
It shows a black o-ring around the lower side and a clear o-ring around the top end.

On the coils I have both o-rings are black so they are easy to see. If both those are intact and everything is put together properly and it still leaks? I think it must be seeping thru the stuffing somehow. Cheers.

I have been using the 1 ohm and 0.5 ohm coil with out flooding. So I think it just a bad coil. Only thing I am not happy with is that it lasted only like 4 days even though the vendor who sold this to me promised 1 month.

Some where in this thread there a discuss about this flooding and what might have cause it. And the one I remember is regarding the cable coming out too long at the bottom which cause the coil head to not sit properly and causing leaking. Hope this helps.

Yep, I have both seals--if one was missing, it would have been a huge disaster!!! My coil looks like the pic below from Joyetech.

Hi fktan, thanks for your thoughts. I checked that the bottom seal is working. I very carefully turned the coil in the base, and I could feel the seal engage the metal in the base. Quite a bit more turning definitely sealed the bottom of the coil pretty good--well, as good as any Aspire coil I've experienced.

Yeah, maybe it is a defective coil, after all. It is confusing because the coil had been working so well until the instant that it wasn't. I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this.

I've bought new coils. Still flooding and getting liquid in my mouth no matter what I do. I tried higher VG juice, I tried rewicking with more cotton, I tried rayon.

It's just a good, but .... device in the same time.

I tried returning it, they weren't having any of it. They know they are selling a .... product, and there's no way you can return it straight to Joyetech.

Don't get this device. You'll suffer from flooding sooner or later. At least with the 1100 mAh version. No idea, maybe the bigger one is better built.

I have continued fiddling around with this tank, and now I do have it seemingly working OK. So, then, that suggests there's nothing wrong with the wicking portion of this coil. There seems to be two possibilities, at least as far as I can tell. One is that this tank just doesn't like the juice level getting down to 0.5-1.0 ml. I sure hope this is not the problem because that would make it pretty much impossible for me to take this tank outside the home. The second possibility is the top seal on the coil and the way is seats with the chimney--it seems that the top seal should be thicker, and if it's not properly sealed to the chimney, of course air will enter the tank and juice will seep through the coil. At any rate, this time, I screwed the thing together a little differently. Instead of screwing the coil all the way into the base and then screwing the base onto the tank, this time I screwed the coil only part of the way into the base before screwing the base onto the tank. My thoughts were that the two seals on the coil would find their own proper seating once the whole tank was put together. Now, I see no seepage of juice into the center of the coil, there is no flooding or gurgling while vaping. Also, I left the tank alone over night, and still there was no seeping. So, did I find the problem? I don't know yet. I will keep tinkering and then report back.

Cheers. :)

EDIT: Thinking a bit more, it seems that the above factors about the seals should explain why some users are struggling with leaking high VG juices that are relatively thicker. In my case, I'm using 65% PG without any flooding, currently. So, I doubt that the problem is the wicking material of the coils, but rather is all about the seals on the coils. Just a thought.

I'm inclined to believe these problems are caused by a defect in the tank itself or a seal problem. I've used high vg and 50/50 mix in my tank from full to empty with no issues. Maybe a tiny bit of dribble but no serious leaking. Perhaps your tank is deformed inside or a seal got lost?

Also I don't really think the battery size would have anything to do with the tank leaking. Have you tried putting the tank on a different device to see if the problem still persists?

I checked the seals, they are all there as they should be. I'm inclined to think maybe my coil sits too deeply in the base when screwed down snug, causing the top seal to be loosely pressed into the chimney. I will check tonight. It might be as simple as turn of the contact at the bottom of the tank.

The only battery I have that is capable of firing the 1.0 Ohm coil is the iStick 30W, which has enabled me to test various voltages ranging from 3.7V to 4.2V. But, yeah, I don't think my battery has anything to do with the flooding issue.

I've been using my XL for few weeks now and never had flooding issues. Occasionally, I will get a small leak, but it goes away rather quickly. Not sure if it has to do with how it's placed (I'll leave it laying down on my front seat while driving).

Right now, my tank is doing the "sitting upright all day" test. It performed fine during the all night test. Next, I suppose, will the "laying on it's side test." But on the first day I had the tank, sitting upright for 2-3 hours led to flooding, bad flooding.
