any micro USB can charge
This is not true, I've had issues with Motorola micro USB chargers, they only charged my VT60 (and various phones, and tablet) to only 50%. This happened with the one I had, and one a co-worker had at work. Not sure why. Also, for the first 2 months I was able to charge my VT60 from my USB 3.0 front port .. but now it only seems to charge it to 50%. I've tried 2, maybe 3 other cables .. same 50%.

But you said it charged it to 50% so it did charge its true... Lol;)

You would be able to vape without a dead battery before you got back home.

I got 4 year old Motorola chargers no problem until the cable goes bad.. Bad cable very common problem.. They will charge a phone laying flat, but when bent plugged up high on the vt they partially short. I don't think a faulty charger counts.

Cheap cables don't last long at all, they get abused badly charging and using the phone bending it around all the time.

Sounds like the usb3 is shot or you have a grip of partially faulty cables..

Download Ampre from the app store to your smartphone and test the cables with a real test. You wont blame your cell phone. I eliminated two of my setups with that information. They just went bad. It will tell you what your usb3 is putting out for real, minus the phone usage shown when the app is open but not charging.

Funny thing is the oldest adapter with the thickest usb cable I have gives me the fastest charging.

You do need at least a .5 amp charge coming in to get it fully charged. It doesnt take many faults for a .5 amp setup to fall below .2 amps.

1 amp+ adapters charge it very fast.

Hello all,
Was just taking off a tank and a bunch of juice spilled on my brand new evic. Grrrrr.
I turned it off and then cleaned it really well with some rubbing alcohol.
Please tell me these things are pretty well sealed and do ok with getting some juice on them.
( didn't get any in near the 510 connector or the charge port)
Everything 'seems' ok..
Pardon my OCD

Pretty tuff man I get stuff on mine all the time, use it in rainstorms ect. It can get into the button and USB the easiest but its usually innocuous if its a little and it will just run out the bottom eventually.

A couple have had some get by the 510 but most haven't had a problem. My 510 always has some juice around it and I've had no problems.

Thx Jeremy. I feel a bit better.
This is my first real mod, foray into subohming
and temperature control and I just love it.
I always said I would never get one of these box mods. Too big. Clunky. Etc. lol
It's like tasting all of my juices for the first time.
It's my new brand new baby and I want to take care of her :)

Yeah, I was Leary of the box mod at first too.. Now, I can't see ever really going back to tubes. That's for sure.
Funny, how it is so comfortable in the hand. Whenever I go back to using anything tube like , it feels so much more awkward. I actually think the box is the ideal ergonomic thing for vaping

She's been on lots of adventures with me. Lots of outdoors, fishing, and boating. Just keep the USB port down out of direct rain. Vaped in a downpour for a few hours, she survived.

I did have to open it one time to dry it, when I got a little too aggressive with washing it in the sink after a fishing trip.

It kept firing after I let go of switch, water was shorting it. I pulled the atty and unscrewed the top, pulled it up and blew it out quick.. got it to power off and let her dry like 10-15min and she's been just fine ever since.

If that shows how durable it can be.

Thanks Jeremy. Great to know!

Something is wrong with my VT60 .. it's not charging right. The OEM charger & my LG 1.0A charger is not working. Battery meter is about 10%-15%, I plug in either charger, I do not get the animation. If i leave it alone till the screen goes "off", and then plug in either charger, the screen comes on, but no animation.

I've sprayed contact cleaner on the VT60 & the plugs, no change. I've lightly crimped/bent the micro plug so it would be tighter in/on the VT60 .. still no animation. Very few times I did get the animation, but I cannot replicate it, or get a continuous/stable charging animation.

I'll leave it overnight, adn hopefully it'll be 100% when I wake up before I goto work.

Others have noted this problem too. Maybe a complete disassembly and cleaning would fix it. IIRC the charging circuitry is located on a pcb up at the top by the 510 connector, the same pcb that the shuttle/jog switch is connected to. That pcb is especially prone to juice contamination.
Good luck and sorry to hear you're having probs but if you're charging prob is intermittent as you say, there is a good chance that a thorough cleaning would fix ya.

Your sure the cable isn't bad... Mine did the exact same thing with bad cable. It detects it but its shorted as soon as you move it... If you bend the cable around in different ways can you get the charge icon to pop up.

Unless there's juice on top of the board.
Get a torx 5, t5.5, or t6 take the 4 screws out and slide the board up to check for juice.

Mine did the same thing and was replaced under warranty.

Love my evic
Quick question ...Can someone tell me 'about' how long usage with moderatly heavy vaping the titanium couils are suppose to last...or what most users are getting out of them ?

Thx!
I have not used Ti coils yet with my VT60 (besides the ones that came with the ONE Mega). Typically TC stuffs lasts 50% or so longer than regular Kanthal/Nichrome .. maybe longer.

True, tc wickheads and builds CAN last longer but they don't HAVE to. With careful power level selection, draw effort and tank level monitoring non-tc wickheads and builds will last just as long.

It's been six months since my initial purchase of the Evic VT, and it's been my daily carry to work ever since. I've had not a single issue with it, and it's been a powerful workhorse and continues to hold a charge like it did on day one. I've used it mainly in VW mode, mostly around 15 watts and the battery last for a good 4 days before I charge it. I never let it fully run down to locked status.

While I used the stock NI200 coil, I hated the Ego One tank. After the fourth month, I managed to buy some NI200 wire, but still haven't built a TC coil onto any of my RDAs or RTAs, mainly due to not wanting to mess with it ;) Free time is difficult to come by this past year, and I normally have about 6 RTAs and 3 RDAs to build or rewick on a day off, so I just haven't gotten into the habit of using the NI200 for fear of forgetting it's nickle and throwing it on one of my non-TC mods. The Evic VT is my only TC mod.

Anyway, it's been six months and I'm looking to buy some back-ups for the future. I've been eyeing the Wismec Reuleaux and Sigelei Fuchai, but more than likely I'll pick up another Evic VT. The prices are half of what I originally spent, and the battery life, effectiveness and durability have been spectacular.

It's been a crazy year, and I just need some peace of mind for the future.

IMO LiPo mods are the way to go. Unfortunately my repaired VT is reading erroneous ohms and I may be looking for a new mod (have to disassemble to verify it is bad.)

I went back to my old IPV2 in VW mode and it really sucks, however I may be able to slip the LiPo in it for extended battery life. I can really tell that my build longevity has decreased from my TC builds.

I am eyeballing the mini, but I'd like something with a variable TCR setting and a fatty LiPo. 18650s seem so old tech IMO. Especially if you need to have more than 1 which requires a separate charger.
