Alright, I did a lot more reading this week and it seems that the Evic mini and Cuboid have some TC problems of there own. In fact, most TC mods seem to have some sort of quirks from what I gather, perhaps this technology still needs a bit more development?

So I went ahead and ordered the VT, with a little luck it'll be here Saturday but otherwise I should have it next week.

Thanks again for your input everyone, I'll be back with my findings once I had the chance to play around with this little beauty.

glad to hear you ordered a VT - pretty awesome device

seems so many peeps complain about the TC not being good enuff
did you notice it is often followed by "well I switched this and am running that"

I don't do Ni wire (requires to much space/wraps)
I just wrap a .4Ω-.8Ω Ti coil (or use factory stock ones that came with tanks)

but screw topper on, adjust settings, VAPE ! period - it just works for me as manufacturer designed...
no exotic settings, no ULTRA low sub ohm'in

some peeps want $500> plus performance from a $40 device

if you just do as manufacture recommends , all should be well...

good luck

:)

these are well worth it
- eGo ONE CLR VT Ti Coils
.

I can't wait to get some hands on experience myself, but good thing that I did order some titanium wire too then :)

The shop I ordered from only had 26g grade 1 in stock so that'll have to do for now. I also got some Kanthal in 24, 26 and 28 gauge. I'm sensitive to nickel so I probably won't even try that.

I have both a Toptank mini and a Velocity clone (mini version) on the way so enough stuff to play with me thinksa.

Do you use it in Ni mode or Ti mode when you use titanium, & what is your preferred resistance for Ti coils?

did you get the VT with the Mega Tank included ??

they come with the CL coils (which are poor) the CLR coils are the ones that
I think work very good...

I do as prescribed Ni<Ni> / Ti <Ti>

I try and roll Ti .4Ω-.8Ω

5wraps of 30g Ti around a 3.0mm mandrel (.6Ω) - 42w @ 430°

Nah, I only ordered the mod. I may get the Mega Tank as well just because of the matching color and out of curiosity for how it functions, but I found a sale for just the mod locally which made it cheaper for me to order them separately when getting the MT from an other vendor if I still want it later on.

But I really liked what I read about the Kanger RBA for the Toptank - and Subtank mini so I wanted to start with that. It just seemed easier to me to start building on that one then fiddling with the Ego One CLR.

I take it you're using the Mega Tank with your VT then?

Use the ti setting unless you need more heat than it will provide.. And it doesn't sound like you will need any more.. I vape at higher power and temp hence I used ni mode with ti to get higher Temps.

Gotcha, thanks

I think you're right, I might go crazy occasionally but I prefer a cool vape and mouth-to-lung in general.

I just want better flavor and more vapor & liquid capacity then my Ego-CC can provide, plus I'm tired of buying coils of random quality and want to make my own. Those are my main motivations for trying this out.

I've always liked the looks of box-mods and those cool tanks people put on them but it always seemed too complicated to get in to before when sniffing around here on the forum. But I think I'm finally starting to understand the basics, we'll see.. ;)

well the eGo ONE Mega tank is MY go-to tank ; it just works for ME !
glass inside steel, 4ml, small compact and of course the CLR coils...
I have about 15 of them stocked up for the long haul (sales) (vapeocolypse dooms day box)

but on my VT, at this time, I'm using the Subtank PLUS with a factory stock Ni coil
it's a handful with 5000mah battery and 7ml of eJuice

I also like the kanger rba and also their OLD first generation coils

That is one big ... tank! lol

The white VT also looks particularly good with the white Sub- or Toptank mini imo ;)

I forgot about it earlier but the Ego One Mega tank is just 2ml over here. I believe we're the first country to adept the nonsense new EU laws.

It's really silly because dutch vendors can still sell 4ml tanks to people from other EU countries and it's also still allowed for dutch people to buy larger tanks from other EU countries or from outside of the EU, they just can't sell them locally anymore. Makes a lot of sense huh?

The worst part is that we can only buy 10ml bottles of juice over here now, which makes it not only more expensive but also increases the amount of plastic that gets thrown away (is anybody recycling these already?)

I've thought about making my own juice but I really don't want to, lol. I make a mess enough as it is just with refilling alone and I'm worried I'll end up overdosing on nicotine. Buying the nicotine itself will probably also be problematic.

*sighs*

Sorry about that, /rant :(

I would go ahead and grab a liter of nicotine while the getting is good, it will keep in the freezer for a long time. That way when you get ready for DIY you will have the thing that will likely be impossible to get, flavorings and PG/VG will always be readily available.

this is the ego tank line-up (that I know of)

Yay, I didn't know they make that many different sizes.

It's the 1,8ml version that comes with the kit here, but most shops advertise it as 2ml.

I'll probably pick a larger one up from across the border before long as I don't know how long 4ml tanks will be allowed to import. Better stock up on goods while I can!

then there is always this; just buy pre mix NIC, still cheaper but safe at mg YOU want (just add flavors)

That is a good idea. I can't find any pure nicotine liquid here nor pre-mixed liquid with a low nicotine level but I found a local shop that sells some 36mg pre-mixed and they have one of those e-liquid calculators on their site as well that tells you exactly how much you need.

Looks like I can make about ten liters of e-juice of my preferred strength from just a 100ml bottle of that stuff. I might as well give it a try now that I've looked in to it a little bit.

Thanks for the tips guys

Can you put it in the freezer (below freezing temperature) or should I just keep it dark and cool? It's 100% VG by the way, in case that makes any difference.

In the freezer, in a sealed, colored glass container.

Woot, it is here

It's so much smaller then I expected!

Definitely more orange then yellow too.

Is it correct that it won't go below 30W in Ti TC mode?

I started out at 200C but that was way too hot for me, I'm currently vaping at a really low temp, 125C or just under 260F for the Americans so much lower then most of you from what I gather. Anything wrong with that or is it possible that it feels hotter then it should be because my wick is on the loose side perhaps?

The taste is really nice at this temp. I wouldn't mind a bit colder vapor still though, but if I go much lower in temp it will not produce much anymore. But it is nice and warm now, not hot.

I'm using a 0,47ohm ti coil on the RBA of the Toptank mini at the moment by the way.

Oh wait, I just put in a different liquid with a lower nicotine level and I can go to a much higher temp all of a sudden. I'm now at 185C or 365F.

Resistance also changed though (yes, I had it locked at room temperature @ 0,47), it reads 0,38 now. I did screw off the tank when refilling it but it still shows the lock-symbol next to the resistance.

Am I doing something wrong or should I just keep on vaping? lol

I don't suppose anyone has found a good deal on these, would love to have the orange/yellow one, but don't want to drop $40+ on it.

40 bucks for one of these is a steel to be honest, this easily feels like a >100$ device.

Man, I just can't put this thing down. I already used as much juice in less then an hour then I normally would in an entire day of hard vaping with my old Ego-CC, lol.

I opened up the airflow on the Toptank entirely and I'm doing straight lung hits at 200C now (392F) without having any problems with the heat. It still reads 0,38ohm by the way, and I get a nice, slightly warm but almost cool vapor.
