Anyone else notice the evic-VT and charger get very warm when it's plugged in. I wouldn't say hot, but very warm. Doubt it's anything to worry about, my isticks get like that too.
Actually, it gets really warm with the included charger. It however does not with my 2 amp phone charger. Strange. I know I've heard not to use higher amp chargers than recommended, but I'll take this as an exception.

It's mostly the wall adapter. A tiny bit at the port. When you think it feels hot take a temp reading. You'll find its probably no more than 5° c above normal.

Using any wall adapter below 1 amp will cause excess heat, as the batteries draw the power. I see no issues using the 2 amp. The circuit will only draw 1 but it won't be maxing out the adapter

Those concerned with lipos....

Every cell phone I've ever had gets slightly warmer when charging it.. I have never had a problem with a lipo in any cell phone that millions and millions of people hold up to thier head daily.

Lipos are great! Not any more unsafe than a cell phone imo.

My black full kit with EU plug was £60 on eBay (including first class post) - £7 less than all the other sellers on eBay, and only £5 more than a bloke on FB was charging for the mod-only. Not that you want the full kit almost certainly from what people are saying. I haven't tried it (and probably won't; I'll try and re-sell it) but the coil heads look incredibly small and inadequate, and the tank nothing special.

Anyway I took the last one of that eBay guy but he said he was probably going to try and get more in, so if you do want a full kit from the UK he'd be a good bet.

Or if you want one quickly I can put you in touch with the FB guy selling mod-only for £55.

I tried to order the mod-only from 3FVape for $55 but they won't ship joyetech or ELeaf to the UK - sounds like those manufacturers won't let them, so they can maintain their local price gouging!

I think I will pass on this one. Doesnt sound like you are too impressed?!?!

to be fair, cell phones arent trying to pull 10A or more from their batteries!!

My early probing did not fill me with impressedness, it's true :) I am sure it can provide a reasonable TC vape, so for someone who particularly loves the colours, the form factor, the built-in battery with 1A charging, etc, it could be fine.

But for someone like you who already has a bunch of good TC mods, nah I wouldn't so far recommend it. Especially as you still don't have an authentic DNA 40, and seeing as I was able to recently buy a HCigar HB40 only lightly used, for less than I paid for the Joyetech, I would definitely recommend that instead, doubly so now we have the probe readings to know a) what °C setting means what temperature for Titanium b) that it's very accurate for Titanium TC (and Ni200 I believe - will post that soon.)

So for you personally: if you need/want one more TC device, I would recommend a HCigar HB40 or similar cheap/used authentic DNA 40 device.

Well that stinks. Ask them about it. Could just be a glitch in their programming.
It is weird. Also if I select one of the other colors with EU plug its £37 in cart. If I add the discount code posted earlier, it goes up to £84....

Oh yeah I forgot you got that!

Haven't seen any screen glitch - though I've been vaping/firing mostly Titanium and it was Rossum's opinion that it's possibly less prevalent with higher resistance builds, because of lower amps causing less EMI. But DrG also said it was supposed to be fixed completely on the small screen, and the HB40 has one of the latest, if not the latest, small screen DNA40 revision - at least it has atty lock anyway. Hard to tell with DNA 40s because they resolutely refused to even acknowledge new updates, let alone provide anything helpful like a version number! :)

And yeah you're right £37 would give a great re-sell price! Hmm... there's a thought :)

But it's much dearer with UK plug? That sucks. If you did buy to re-sell just buy whatever the cheapest plug is and then get a job lot of 1A UK plug chargers for £2 each or whatever. Mine came with EU plug, and I have an adaptor somewhere - not that I plan to use it, besides for a quick test to put in my review, should I ever do one.

I can almost guarantee the issues Phil had was 100% due to using a Kayfun 4 on a TC device. Not one of my attys has ever dropped out of TC mode. Maybe I'm just lucky?
I'm a reverse snob, I much prefer the likes of the Subtank mini over the K4.

The Kayfun is major pain compared to the Subtank and it doesn't perform half as well.

The K4 is also a pain with Nickel.

Well I hold up on buying the SXK 60 flask and opted for evic VT instead (not yet received).
With the experience and all the testing, how do you compare and/or rate this vs SXK 60 Flask?
Nickel Purity is good-to-have to other wires like stainless steel, but is it really that different compared to Titanium - I guess what Im trying to understand is if SXK 60 VF still a better choice and your thoughts on the two.

A lot of people have had issues with the Kayfun 4 on all TC devices, that why I suspect it's the atty he was using and not the eVic VT.

Yeah, I have a K4 that I use with TC with a silver spring. While it can vary a bit on resistance, going from .2 to the point where it jumps out of temp control (1 ohm) is horrendous. Something drastically wrong there.

I saw Rossums post. Very interesting idea. The shark of course is a large screen but should have atty lock (if not its going back!) so we will see I guess!
Im sure its a web error on the gearbest site but annoying really..

I been reading and it looks like some of yall really put the Evic thru its paces. After all this serious testing I would like to ask would you recommend to someone who is not a novice to buy the Evic as a temp control device.

Presently I am vaping on two IPV4's with Kangers STM's on them and using them in temp mode. Have a third STM I want to put on a temp control mod and am looking for something lighter than the IPV4.

I've had my evic vt for a week now. It has not dropped out of TC. That said Phil is right, it should never drop out. It should be impossible to inadvertently drop out. The results of it doing so would be unpleasant in the least.

I'm using the subtank w/stock ni200 kanger heads, and the mega w/ Ti. (He's also right about the juice ports)
