No, it briefly shuts it off, so ramping up is actually better than slamming it. Reality, is it is temperature protection, not temperature control. It's best, I'm finding to set the wattage to right before the temp protection kicks in. Pick your temp, and roll up the watts. Also depends how fast or slow you draw, as that cools the coil.

Ughhh so aggravated :-x:censored: The Ego One Mega when I screw it on asks me for a new coil/same and the Subtank Mini sometimes will ask but it keeps jumping the :-x around from .11 to .12 to .13 to .14 to .16 and to .17. I am so :-x mad right now I can't see straight

Mine did too on the subtank but has settled in at .12. What temp are you trying to get to? You pretty much have to keep the wattage low on the subtank due to the low resistance. As you move up in temp you can throw more wattage at it. I really think this thing may be calibrated to read .2 and higher, although it does read and work lower, hence the .2 ohm coils the mega comes with. I am also not always getting the new coil deal, and I think that's why. Your coil will read differently after using it, which is why that lock feature is there and why they recommend locking it in at room temp.

I think these Kanger Coils just plain suck. They don't work well on my SX Mini or IPV4 very well either.

Anyone know if this mod is going to be able to get program updates via USB like the SX?

I hope so. Might be time to start building on the rba deck. I think if they up the resistance .2, they will work fine. I am not sure why they picked .15. Maybe they will venture into ti coils

Anybody else noticing the new coil/same coil not reading every time?

If your coil is within 10% of the previous coil, then it won't ask. (I think it's 10%, it's in the instruction booklet)

I've been slamming it head-on into TP/TC. I'm still playing with it to figure out what I like best, but so far, I really like the way it regulates when it reaches my set temp. I can't replicate this Vape with the DNA40, it just doesn't heat up as fast.

Sorry someone should have warned you. I have had the Subtank NI200 coils for a while and they all have been inconsistent as heck.
Yeah, I've heard nothing but "questionable" things about the Kanger Ni coils. I thought I read that their newly designed TP coils are like 2-3 weeks away. didn't I read that in this thread!?
