Update

Dry rayon test: passed with flying colors at 230C. Vapor disappeared and power was reduced to 1.3W and nothing happened.

Water test... Not so great... Maybe, I have some doubts. It was jumping between 108 and 112C. Should have been 100C but after cleaning the coil and reassembling the atty, resistance went down to 0.44 Ohms (before 0.47) so that could have influenced something.

So right now:

dna 40 reads 0.42 VT reads 0.44

Another atty

dna 40 reads 0.28 VT reads 0.31

Not too surprising, we're dealing with hundredths of an ohm, 2 or 3 in this case. Differences in the smoothness of the 510 center pin, differences in the metals used for the connector or wiring, differences in the thread cut on the 510 connector, etc....all can easily make a difference of a few hundredths of an ohm. And that's before you even consider how the resistance is being measured.

+1 ,
a hundreth of an ohm isn't much

My istick 50w read this coil at .9 , the evic reads it at .87

Accurate enough for me..

Loving this thing!

With the eVic, I'm calling it temperature Control. With the way I've been vaping this thing at 500+ degrees, I doubt I'm Protecting anything.
I like it right there too! I found my sweet spot at a low 30 watts and 500 degrees. I ordered the Smok TCT just now, looking forward to it.

ok i notice a little more issue. i hear sound if i put close to my ear. it sound "yeee.." and "tick tick tick…" at the same time. Any one notice that?
that kinda bothers me, doesn't sound really healthy..? -the "yeee" gets a bit louder when i fire it, and is just a bit annoying on a quiet evening. Still loving it though..

I have really good hearing (I can hear a fly next room if needed) and I can't hear anything unless I place my ear on the mod or do a stupid water test.

During the water test, under running water, the mod will indeed squeak and hum loudly but not under normal condition, at least my atties.

 Day #3 Update: :pop:

Still going strong.. Seriously strong device. Still haven't really had to adjust my setup... Running 35w/480F-500F and loving it. Cool thing I noticed today is when you want to switch your airflow (to sneak some puff where it's frowned upon) just adjust your tank. Not like before when you had to lower wattage on the device also. God I love temp control..

I have noticed the Kanger NiOCC coil DID settle into a consistant resistance after the 1st day, and it has been the same ever since. Although now on Day #3 it is starting to loose flavor a little. Flavor chasers might be swapping every 3-4 days, me I wanna see how long I can get from it for the first one..

I wont mention that last night when watching TV, after the movie was over and I got up, I realized that I vaped my tank 98% dry and didn't even notice.. The juice was SO low I couldn't believe it.. No burnt/dry hits.. I felt like a rookie, but then again, we usually look at the level when we get a bad hit lol

Only thing I can say that kinda annoys me is that I find it hard sometimes to "reset" my resistance when I want to.. I know it will flash the message when the actual resistance is different then the "locked in" resistance by like 10% or so, but there are times when I want to do it (I like it exact lol) and I can't get into the "turn right for new coil" bull...... Tried the long fire hold, turning on/off, leaving tank off it for a few min, etc etc

Other then that, this puppy is a keeper... Anyone that is still on the fence on this device... it's time to pull the trigger. You will NOT be disappointed. To think I paid the same for this mod as I did the iStick 50 when it was released is mind boggling lol

I received mine today and I am very pleased. I put my ST plus with a Ni OCC, and took it on a test drive. I set the TC to 480f and 30 watts. Performed beautifully! The taste was phenomenal and produced a lot of vapor. Never once did my drip tip get too warm. Tomorrow I'm going to build a Ni coil on my RBA for my ST mini and see how she goes. I like using the RBA better than OCC coils anyway so I'm stoked about it. My poor trusty istick 50W appears to have retired now. It doesn't come close.

Bummer, is that a bright yellow one or did you end up with an orange.. Or somewhere between it looks.
Well, that's what Joyetech calls yellow. You're right tho, it's definitely yellow orange.

But what we all really want to know?..... How does the 'Vette vape?
At 812 horsepower it vaporizes pretty much everything....Especially rear tires and copious amounts of Ethanol!!

For those of you that gave up on the Mega give it some time. After 3 to 4 days my flavor has got better and so has the vapor production. I think it takes a little bit for the coils to break in
I was just thinking the same thing! Yesterday I decided to go ahead and vape the juice that was in it and I haven't put it down since! Who'da thunk it?

I wasn't that impressed with the Ego ONE Megga either. It wasn't bad flavor, and made surprisingly good vapor considering I use max-VG juice. My problem was the resistance wondering around all over the place. I only tried one coil, so I should probably give it another chance before giving up on .

When the coil is at room temperature you can go into the menu and lock the ohms so that it knows what the true resistance is. If you don't lock it then it gets confused based on the temp. If you lock it then it won't jump and will maintain the right temp and wattage for your coil.

I'm on the fence about the tank. I prefer my subtanks but don't have the nickel coils for subtanks yet.

SO, I'm 4 days into the Evic-VT...and I'm in love. Haven't touched my Istick 50 and only tooted on my Smok M80 plus a couple of times...my two 30w Isticks have been relegated to the wife. Two of my 3 subtanks are sporting nickel OCC coils and working beautifully. Makes me want to buy a couple more, one for each subtank, but I know better. Something else is coming out in a few weeks that will make this look like a toy. But maybe not. The Evic seems to get most thing right, really right. Yes the interface isnt perfect, but the set it and forget it aspect of the mod makes that inconvenience minimal. Only thing I play with is temp to find all the different flavors in the juices.

I may give the mega a second try, but to be honest, the thing is a noisy ....., and that drives me nuts. If I find anything wonky, I'll report back...but so far, so really good!

I'm only a day in and it is my first experience with temp control. I am using the mega tank and getting great flavor and vapor production. No complaints so far. I am using a lower VG juice than I usually do so we will see if I run into trouble when I change juice.
I'm using max VG at 55watts/510° and Ti coil is keeping up just fine...surprised the hell out of me
