Ugh ... so now this is making me think I should have a second battery. I wish the batteries had some kind of indicator on them. I see that there are also 1000mAh batteries, would that be the better choice? On top of that, storage is important pending on which route I go. What is the typical/recommended setup for the 901 (eGo-C - they're one in the same right)? This is really making me wish I didn't buy locally now ...

The authentic EGO-C batteries do have an indicator. When the battery is down to 25% life remaining the button light on it glows Blue. Just so you know

Thanks Clip and everyone else, this has been very helpful. Yeah I probably wasted some $$, but I did get a decent education on the matter locally ... now, I am getting a higher learning through this site :)

Now time to build a new eGo as I think I'm gonna pass this one over to my Dad. I'm sure I'll have more questions very soon, just need to find some sites i like now.

No problem, hell, look at my sig... I'm no expert.

BUT I do know you can learn a lot and avoid costly errors by reading these forums.

Welcome... and good vape.

Just remember although the genuine eGo is a good PV there are better ones out there for about the same price. It's all about buying a PV that is able to accept minor inexpensive upgrades down the road IMHO.
Good Luck.

The Riva is good. The E-Power is good although you have to get it from the right vendor as there were switch problems which have now been resolved??? not sure and time will tell. My favorite, right now, is the KGO. Here's a review

Edit:The reasons I like the KGO is:
Highly regarded within the vaping community. The KGO is a high end Starter Kit at a very reasonable price.
Long life 1100 mah batteries- approx 9-10 hours before recharge
Easily and cheaply upgradable to add on other parts- Low Resistance Cartomizers, Tanks, etc.
I would imagine this Kit would last you at least 9 months and probably a year.

You can use atomizers or cartomizers on all these PVs. Most generally end up using cartomizers because they're cheap and easy to use. Many, after getting used to the cartomizers, will then buy an addon tank. I've looked into tanks and decided to use Mega cartomizers as they hold lottsa fluid. Cartomizers can be bought for about 15 for $20.00. Many vendors are now selling 15 packs for cheap and throwing in some freebies also. A carto should last at least 1 week. The eGo-C I am hearing good things but I believe it's way overpriced and the batts are small- considering the price I would think they'd at least give 1000 mah batts.

Very cool and I'm looking into some of these other brands ... is the eGo-C separated atomizer thing really worth it in comparison? I mean, it does seem like overall cheaper maintenance no? Do the other brands do what the C does?

Thus far, I'm really liking the drip tank + the plastic tanks (still working on terminology).

At this point, as stated, I do enjoy what I own. The eGo-C; however It's only been one day. I bought this one size because of the battery and now based on these forums I'm starting to think even the 650mAh is too small and/or at least get another. With everything considered, I'm debating about simply giving this one to my Dad and purchasing myself a new one.

So now I'm trying to figure out If I should stick with eGo or not. In the end, I want something that looks cool, has a long battery and is reliable. As of now I'm pretty sold on the plastic reservoir tanks and the drip tank. Based on some of the links and info I've gotten here, I'm really liking what I see at ValueVapor.com. They have many cool/different styles than just the typical black/silver (ideally I want a blue one). I am also looking for a great case for these bigger models. With all that considered, can anyone direct me at the end all/say all "kit" or at least a place to piece it all together at?

What's kind of confusing me is that on that ValueVapor site, I see parts for the 501 as well as the eGo ... aren't they technically one in the same? I feel that I'm getting a better understanding of it all; however still kinda confused when trying to build a new one and in the end just thinking I should find another "starter kit".

Was everyone else this confused at first? haha ...

I have a guy in my office that uses the EGO-T. I find that the C will be cheaper upkeep in the long run because of the replaceable atty heads. I can buy 5 atty heads for the price of 2 ego-t attys. I figure if my health is getting better for quitting the sticks my wallet mine-as-well see the improvement too. I also like the fact that when you puff on the EGO-C you can hear the atty crackle and pop, for some reason I just like that.

I'm finding that the eGo-C is still not available on many sites. My local store just got theirs in yesterday and stated they are pretty brand new. Is that true?

The only eGo-C colored ones I've found thus far is this: eGo-C Starter Kit and the site makes me a bit skeptical on it's authenticity. Currently I think I'm set on the eGo-C. I've had other recommendations here an on another thread; however I don't want to continue to confuse myself and thus far, this thing works like a champ, so I think I'm gonna stick with it. With that said, I'd prefer to find an eGo-C in a blue color, preferably something even more custom with marble effects like this: DSE-510 Manual Battery DSE-510 manual battery [DSE-510 Manual Battery] - $11.49 : ValueVapor.com, Discount Electronic Cigarettes and e-Liquid.

So, a couple things ...
1) Multiple vendors simply clone this concept/technology right? Meaning that if it's not labeled or sold by Joyetech, I need not worry correct? Inevitably, they're all coming from the same place and people simple re-package them.
2) The more popular method of using the e-juice is through the cartomizers. This is the combo of the atomizer + .... (kind of like what Blu does), correct? These are refillable as well?
* Currently, I like the drip tank (hits harder, tastes better), but I'd like to have reserves so I don't always have to stop and refill a few drops at a time; therefore the cartomizers are better than just the clear "tank" tips yeah? This also cuts down on the amount of moving parts/things that can go wrong.
3) With the last statement made above, If I go to cartomizers + drip tank, I don't really "need" the C model correct? The draw of the C is the replaceable atomizer, but I won't need this anymore If I move to the above two methods correct?
4) If I go the route of cartomizers, all I need to know/purchase for the eGo-C is that they're 510 compatible correct?
5) Is anyone familiar with a nice, pocket size case that at the least will support the eGo-C including at least one battery + 1-2 juice bottles (probably 5ml?). As an added bonus, one that can charge ... I've yet to find a good case all day in my hunt/research.

I can't thank you all enough for all this help. I wish I had started here vs. going locally yesterday and dropping all that money as now I have buyers remorse ... but, it's not in vein. Once I build this new unit for myself and have a better understanding of everything, I am going to simply send this one to my Dad.

Thanks again everyone, you've been VERY helpful!

OK, what does that mean?

what color do you think is "eGo C colored"?

Hey Clip,

Well, all I've seen locally and most online stores is that they only sell black or silver. Currently, I"m debating about getting this:

eGo-C Starter Kit
+ case:
JOYE eGo PCC (Personal Charger Case)

The kit comes with "5x empty eGo-T cartrides", those are the "cartomizers" correct? So they have the atomizer built in and then I just fill in the liquid correct? Where as the "5x Ego-C atomizer heads" are the clear "cigar like tips" where you fill them up and use the atomizer inside the cone correct?

I hope I have this right!!!

No.

Some brands like Totally Wicked re-brand genuine Joytech... others are cheap knock-offs that do not perform as well...

like buying an "eyePhone" at a swap meet... ;)

2) The more popular method of using the e-juice is through the cartomizers. This is the combo of the atomizer + .... (kind of like what Blu does), correct? These are refillable as well?

I'm very confused by your repeated use of the term ... "Drip Tank"

I do not even understand how that is possible.

Do you mean Drip Tip?

3) With the last statement made above, If I go to cartomizers + drip tank, I don't really "need" the C model correct? The draw of the C is the replaceable atomizer, but I won't need this anymore If I move to the above two methods correct?

OK, I'm pretty sure now that you mean Drip Tip...

the answer is yes:

Atomizer + Drip Tip
or
Atomizer + Cartridge
or
Cartomizer
or
Cartomizer + Drip Tip
or
Cartomizer + Tank Mod + Drip Tip
or
eGo-T Cone Atomizer + Tank
or
eGo-C cone + eGo-C Atomizer + eGo Tank

There's probably more options... but that's the big ones

4) If I go the route of cartomizers, all I need to know/purchase for the eGo-C is that they're 510 compatible correct?

Pretty much.

there is also some issues with Ohms... the Boge 2.0 Ohm units are very popular

5) Is anyone familiar with a nice, pocket size case that at the least will support the eGo-C including at least one battery + 1-2 juice bottles (probably 5ml?). As an added bonus, one that can charge ... I've yet to find a good case all day in my hunt/research.

I'm looking myself ;)
