I hope you also ordered some 22 gauge needles.

I've been vaping this stuff for the past half hour and it seems to have done the trick. It completely took off that fruity bright note and it melded the honey taste so much better with the tobacco. Still no nutty taste but it did gave it the body I was looking for. I think you can actually reduce the TMP to 2 - 3 drops to fine tune the top note without completely changing the over all taste into something completely different. I'm going to start a new 10 ml batch to see if I can fine tune this. I think this will make a great base for other flavors such as coffee, bourbon, rum. As I'm not a sweets vapor I tend to say away from the caramel, vanillas or over sweeting mixes. The only exception are some ry4's.

Danny I must be the only one interested in perfecting this, sorry it sounds like a personal back and forth.

Tasted mine again this afternoon. OMG!!!!!!! It is so SO harsh, and seems to get a little more every day. I have deduced that 8% was entirely too high for my taste buds. I'm going to cut that sucker in half to 4% and add some AP to it when it gets here, then let it sit some more.

Carefully noted already. LOL

I just sampled my mix from last night at 9% and 1% TMP. The tobacco flavor is fine but what they call honey is so perfumy and chemical tasting. I think I just need to let it sit for a while. I do know after some time it mellows. But this is a difficult flavor to work with.

Why do all the wonderful ones have to be such divas?

Amen. Black honey was part of my very first flavor order. I love how it smells from the bottle. I want it to taste that way.

My first try was just OK. Haven't tried again, as I moved to other things. Need to try again.

Watching thread for clues.

Psst.. FQ.. you arent the only one..

Just waiting on my flavors.. I grabbed some "sweet tobacco" from my local B&M today, for my Dad, for the 4th..
guess what I had realized

Will play with this.. as I think I have an idea on the recipe.. not sure.. but! with a lil lemme see:

Kentucky Bourbon Flavor (TFA)3%
Smooth Flavor PG Concentrate (TFA) 1 drop, maybe 2
Acetyl Pyrazine 5% PG Flavor Concentrate (TFA) *diluted.. (1drop to 10ml) ??
Black Honey Tobacco Flavor (TFA) 9%

other additions:

em 1%
agave *diluted and use 2 drops.. (1drop to 10ml) on both of these.. use them together.
Trust me on this.

Butter Rum Flavor Concentrate ( LA) -exchange this for the bourbon for a variation-
Brandy Flavor Concentrate (LA) -exchange this for the bourbon for a variation-

on the actual tobacco.. (havent grabbed it yet) but wl has a "light commercial tobacco" that I think might ring on this..

Note: this is to be a light, sweet vape.. tons of fog.. so I think instead of using the actual "flavoring" perhaps a 1ml of the real rum.. your choice in what that is..

2nd note.. if you use the real.. keep it at around the 1ml.. too much makes for a runny vape.. unless you are dripping, then really, who cares, runny or not.. this is close.

Thanks for the advice it makes a lot of sense. If you do this mix let us know how it turns out. I've been wanting to try the rum and bourbon with the BHT. Maybe your right and a smooth or vape wizard needs to be added. I think the AP @ 5% is a bit high though unless your looking to add a pronounced nutty flavor but I think that amount may take it to the corn chip tasting side. Also the light nutural tobacco such as a FA MAXX may also be needed. Not sure about the EM but may be worth a try. Certainly though you have provided some nice suggestions.

Nice discussion guys. I think I have every tobacco flavor from Wizard Labs (TFA) that they sell. Black Honey was also my first favorite and your blends will work. Not to hijack the thread, but my favorite from WL is Double RY4. It mixes very well with caramel, French vanilla, and other fruit flavors like peach and orange. For $1.49 for 8 Mls you might want to order some Double RY4 and mix it at 5% to 10% first, then add some caramel, vanilla or fruit flavors for a nice change. I vape Dbl RY4 mixes almost all day, every day and after 8 months I still have not found a better tasting tobacco blend. You can also get it direct from The Flavor Apprentice at a slightly higher cost when WL is out of stock.

Well I let it sit with the cap off for 24 hours and because I was steeping a batch of tobacco extract I just made I put the BHT back in and let it steep a few more hours. The perfumy/chemical smell is much less but still there. I'll let it sit another 2 days or so before trying it. If the results are the same maybe a little vape wizard may be in order.

Gees I really would like to get this bace working before I attempt to turn in into something else.

On a high note I made some tobacco extract out of some tobacco I used to stuff into cigarette tubes in my analog days. I mixed it at 10% with 2%TMP and 3%AP in a 50/50/24NIC bace and wow what a treat. I haven't stopped vaping it since I made it yesterday. I think this is going to be my new 555.

Update on TFA Black honey tobacco.

I let it sit for 4 weeks and the difference is like night and day. The chemical taste and smell is completely gone and the taste change was huge. It is much closer to a natural honey and very sweet. It seems that artifical steeping (Ultrasonic) will not do it for this one. It has to sit at least 4 - 5 weeks. Now I must admit it is very good.

It's been a while since I've tasted mine, lets go digging in the steep cabinet. TBH, I had just about given up on it. . . and the verdict is, this stuff is great!!

Original recipe at 8% with a couple drops apple cider vinegar. Sweet, not chemically, not too harsh. Perfect!

I need to give you a high five!!

I tried various ratios with or without other flavors but there was always something I didn't like about it. Than I've used only straight 1 drop in 2 ml of Nicbase and amazingly all the flavors jumped out. It's smokey like wood, honey sweet, perfect balance. I've found the same ratio works as well for RY4 Double. Definitely less is more on these two for me.
