Unfortunately I've run into a lot of ex smokers just like this guy! Wanna lecture me about how they quite and tell me I should quite the nic cuz it'll kill me. I've tried educating them about it and they don't listen. So I've given up, and just nod and have a vape while they go on their spiel.

I think being a jerk is in fact a requirement, for most federal agencies. Right there with ya on the flying, too.
I think those people that quit so long ago had no choice but to do it "cold Turkey", if they had the choice to vape back then when the dinasours roamed , and you guys just figured what to do with that fire you just found too! but last i checked I'm me and your you, so let me be on my choices.

My guess is that he was just super jealous. Not only were you getting on a flight, but you could also afford a PV and thus still be able to get your nic fix. He quit cold turkey because he had no alternative, and while he obviously needs some nicotine in his life, working for the TSA he can't afford to buy a PV. Just be thankful he didn't confiscate yours. 
Yeah I've had this same problem with people I just look at them like they're speaking a language that I don't understand then ask them "what" when they're done
airports are some of the riskiest places in the world and there needs to be security. the problem comes in when the hiring standards are comparable to mcdonalds and you give too much power to people that dont use it effectively.
if a choice has to be made, i choose to keep my provari vs trying to get the last word on someone who might falsely arrest me just for giving him an attitude.
bmmer! My first trip out resulted in a cop making me exhale so he could smell and make sure i was not smoking any funky stuff. i had no clue lol. The last few trips (coming up on 9 mos) have resulted in a whole lot of interest and hopefully a few converts. Sorry you ran across a crazy one!
In my opinion, the real problem is: why to lecture you about vaping in the first place knowing it is harmless compared to analogs? You could have lectured him about not to beleive the crap is hearing on the news and advise him to educate himself.
I was wondering what would happen with the TSA and airports when carrying an egig. They confiscated all my lighters a few years ago. They treated me like a common criminal.
Congrats on making 5 weeks! People like that TSA guy drive me crazy. Good for him for quitting cold turkey 27 years ago the fact he quit doesn't make him the authority on how to stop smoking. I wonder if he would have taken the time to lecture a gum or lozenge user?
