I ordered the Rawganique TW12B200 Unwaxed Hemp Twine 12-Strand 200' ball. I did the soap scrub on a ten foot section. I twisted every bit of the twine between my fingers. Gave it a good triple rinse. I boiled it in distilled water wrapped loosely, in one layer, around a cheese grater twice for two hours each. I really didn’t notice the water being very dirty. I cut off a 4 inch section and still found small bits of "stuff" on the twine. Are those of you that are experienced, smoking it at is after boil, or are you cleaning it more before or after? I only smoke fruit or sweet flavors and don’t want to ever taste the "bad" dirty hemp flavor. All advice appreciated.

I think you were more than thorough already, go and vape with it :)

Personally I don't even pre-treat it with soap, so a total of 40 to 60' boiling is all my hemp gets. Sometimes with a few drops of lemon or vinegar, if the twine initially smells more than usual.

Curious about the 'stuff' you've noticed... If it's small brown specks it should be normal, part of the hemp twine itself.

Same here, mostly sweet and fruity flavors, and I think hemp gets along very well with them.

After 4 hours of boiling I'd think any bad smell to be long gone, if any, but in any event hemp only adds a 'rope' (hint of) flavor in the first few minutes of vaping, nothing nasty IMO.

The "stuff" was dark slivers and what I would guess to be the skin of the plant. Think of a popcorn shell...It was shiny bits that would not have held any fluid. I blotted a 5" piece on paper towel and it took me all of 2 minutes to remove all offending "stuff".

Onto the good part.

I made my first coil ever for my mini vapeonly bcc. Perfect 2.2 ohm with .32 Kanthal and hemp twine. MVB Gummy bear tasted great from the first vape.

Re-wicked a 2.4ohm standard RBA with the twine. Filled with MBV Juicy Fruit, that needs to steep, and I think I'm getting the hemp flavor. But I like it. Everything is looking good. As I write this they are tightening up a bit so I need to play with number of strands for different devices but overall I'm very happy with the twine. And for $15 delivered I have a lifetime supply of wick.

Next step is to rebuild some mini vivi nova coils and try some of my own juice to taste for flavor differences.

Thanks all for sharing the info here!

Have been away from just hemp for a few weeks. I have taken my gennies out of retirement to test the BD13 and/or white ceramic wick. I really like these white ceramic wicks and feel they will be a rebirth for many who had given up on the gennies. I cheat a little and all my setups have a small hemp flavor wick stuffed between the wick and the post. IMO this adds to the flavor, helps the wick recover, and keeps the upper coil leg wet so no hot spots. I am very excited about these white wick, something that I was not with the LC2000.

I'm glad you like the white wick BJ...it's now the only wick I run in the genny, and I value your opinion on these things. I haven't added a flavor wick myself, might have to give it a try. Did you get yours from Boden, or did you buy some from somewhere? I'm not aware of a vendor carrying them yet, but would like to get more of them.

Good, I emailed Vanessa about what you had posted that it was 4 strand and this was her reply:

It is 12 strand, but that stiffer stuff that needs loosened. We have not bought 4 strand from anyone. We have bought 3 strand or 12 strand. Maybe you can elaborate with him how to do it. We have an e-cig and it works fine, just needs loosened up. Supposedly our supplier is supposed to be providing the stuff that is looser. But it won’t be available for about 4 more weeks.

I've been using Martha Stewart cotton hemp yarn and it wicks high VG juices very well, even chain vaping .65ohm dual coils on my Ithaka.
I want to try this hemp twine, will it not wick as good?

On my lab tests the 12 strand hemp twine wicked "capillary action" better than any other wick and that included your yarn, silica, cotton, and SS.

Awesome, very excited to try it, hopefully she gets back to me and can send me some!

Great, when you get it wash it between your fingers with dish detergent and then boil it twice. The longer you boil the softer it gets. I do two 20 minute boils and when it is dry I work it with my fingers to get it soft. Some are boiling up to 2 hours and say that removes any flavor the hemp may give. Since I only use tobaccos, I kind of like the flavor if any, hemp gives. The main advantage over the yarn is durability.
