Got this beautiful Elegance tank from Hoosier vapes for my b-day - put a carto in - hits like a freight train for the 1st night - wake up in the morning - still hitting great ... set it down, get a cup of coffee ..come back.. hit again ... Flooded..

OK ...get frustrated.. put it down for a couple of days.. get a box of new cartos (Ikenvapes)...fill her up... Hitting like a freight train again..GREAT!!.. last couple of days...doing well..couple of the gurgles.. but nothing I cant get thru just clearing it...

Few minutes ago ..take a vape.. great ... go into a meeting.. come back and the tank is drained and e-liquid all over my provari and my desk..

WTH...?????... This is why whenever I see some people on here talking about how cartos in tanks are the "best" and not "fiddly" while at the same time talking about how clearos,VNs and other devices are "inferior" i just cringe..

I have been using VNs for the past 2 and half months and not one time has anything like this happened... I experience no muted flavors, lack of vapor or throat hit..

Sorry.. just frustrated as all hell and needed to get it out ....

I would be frustrated too! My trusty set up is a pyrex glass or polypro tank and boge cartomizers from Valley View Vapes and the cartos last me sometimes longer than 1 1/2 weeks. The carto tank set up should not flood that easily, but sometimes they do. If it happens to me, I take the tank off the battery and blow from the drip tip through the battery connection holding a tissue to absorb the liquid. Also I am constantly wiping the connection on the battery.

Don't know what else to tell you, hope you find some answers.

The elegance tanks are really nice looking but so far I've stuck to the vivi nova. It is just too easy for me to give it up. I have the carto tanks but just too fiddly for me. I end up adding to my tank all day. Now I'd like to see some drip tips only from that elegance line, I like their shape. I kinda look at it like if it ain't broke don't fix it.

This Vivi nova tank i bought from a local shop has actually been performing rather will.. even though I found out that it is a V1... Where they even got them is beyond me.. must have been stocking up long before the shop actually opened..

But hey.. whatever works! lol

Sounds like a dodgy o ring, did you get a spare set of o rings when you got your elegance tank? I've also read someone had a similar problem and the bottom cap was out by a tiny amount, Hoosier Vapes replaced it free of charge and problem was solved. Try the o ring if you've got one or call Charlotte at Hoosier Vapes, shell sort it out for you, fantastic customer service. Sorry you're having problems, because when functioning properly they really are a great tank. I've got 3 with one on the way and I've never had flooding issues.

When the leaking occurs, is this while the tank is running low? If so, I have a few theories about this:

First of all, tanks feed by the user sucking juice into the carto when they take a vape. When the juice is being sucked into the carto from the tank, it puts a vaccuum on whatever air is inside the tank. Then when you release your inhale, that vaccuum pulls air through the carto into the tank. Nothing new here, just prefacing my next point with this.

When the tank is rather full, the amount of air inside the tank is lower, and the degree to which you can pull a vaccuum on that air decreases, which means less juice can flow into your carto. Which means no flooding.

When the tank gets low, and there is a lot of air inside the tank, the degree to which you can pull a vaccuum on the inside of the tank increases, which allows more juice to flow into the tank. Causing flooding.

In addition to this, when the tank is lower, there is less juice to absorb the heat of the carto getting hot, so the juice that IS in the tank gets hotter, which means thinner, which again means more juice flow into the tank.

All of my flooding occurs when my tank is below half empty, usually around 1/4 full or so. I can control this by taking longer breaks inbetween vapes, so that the juice doesn't get to hot and thin out.

Thicker juice and less/smaller holes will also help to fix this problem, but I've had single hole cartos with 90% VG juice flood when the tank was nearly empty, and I was chain vaping heating the juice so much it thinned out a lot.

Now your issue of your tank completely emptying and draning all over seems like a different issue, as not once have I experienced this (or even heard of it) to be honest. Perhaps there was a change in temperature or pressure in the room that was enough to cause the inside of the tank to become pressurized and drain the juice? Just an idea, however unlikely it is.
