This has been quite easy. No withdrawals, and I am at the place where I actually like vaping better than smoking.

But....and this is where I'd like comments.... I still *believe* I am a smoker. I still go hand to mouth, I still suck something in, and I am addicted to it. I don't feel free from the bonds of smoking. Maybe I need a pep talk. Don't get me wrong, I also *believe* I have gone into harm reduction mode, but if someone asks me if I am a smoker I think "YES", before I correct myself and say "No But...."

Is my thinking all messed up?

That's why E cigarettes work and patches and gum don't....at least for me.

You still get to play with the "cigarette" and you still get the nicotine.

I say that I have quit smoking, but I have a suspicion that if they put me on a lie detector
as I said that, it would show up as a lie. Simply because it still feels like I'm smoking. But that's
fine. That's why they work !

Smoking and im sure im not the only one who thinks this isnt just taking in tobacco , its a whole list of things. Its an oral fixation, its also a hand fixation , then there is the act of actually smoking.

Part of the problem lies with the fact that smoking has two parts to it, there is the act of smoking being done by yourself and the cig smoking while it burns tobacco. With Vaping you take out the latter but the first part still exists.

smoking present participle of smoke (Verb)
Verb
Emit smoke or visible vapor: "heat the oil until it just smokes"; "huddled around a smoking fire".
Inhale and exhale the smoke of tobacco or a drug: "the effects of smoking".
