I ordered mine from Smoke Evolution with the free battery. Got it yesterday. My first mechanical and I'm more than satisfied. ;o)
You can only use flat top batteries on the k100?
It's showing up as $49.98 for me. I do like the look of the black one.
You can use either.
Hum thanks i tried a button top and it fired once i screwed it on. Maybe it was too tight. Ill fiddle with it or try another thanks.
If it is one of those gray Panasonics, the wrap doesn't extend over the edge of the bottom, which seems to cause this. Just flip the battery upside down and it should work fine, as well as shorten the throw a bit. It's still a good idea not to crank the telescope down super tight, to prevent this. I only use button topped batteries in mine, so you should be able to get it to work.
I would really like to sand the contacts but I have a few questions, I really don't want to break anything. How do I get the plastic piece off of the spring to get to the switch contact? Any good suggestions on how to sand the bottom end of the upper contact? It's way up there in the telescoping tube. I really like this mod but I definitely notice the voltage drop compared to my Sig #8 with all sanded contacts. Thanks
I did read this post already and it is great, but I'm not sure if the plastic piece threads off or if you just yank it right off. Also I'm a little nervous knocking out a press fit piece. It seems there has to be an easier way to get some even sanding going up there in the tube.Check out post #60 on page 6. eHuman has a good write up.
sweet, i got mine from aquavapor. im really loving the simplicity of a mech. i got a sigelei 8, k100 and an AGI dripper/tank. still trying to get a hang of the AGI. but both mechs work good with the protank and a 1.8Ω head.
