Ok so ive been watching rebuilding vids for a week or so so i decided to try on my inexpensive evod. So i uses 28 gauge kanthall and organic cotton did 6 wraps on 1/16 drill bit and got 0.8 ohms so my question is is that too low should i use thinner wire it hits good just the taste is not AS good as a stock build. Im just curious what anyone else would like the ohms to be and how to get the ohms you want? Thanks in advance for the responses. And by the way im new to all of this and i used cotton because i read something about glass being inn the silica wick? Is that true? And by the way im using mvp 2.0 on 7.0 watts if i go higher the taste just gets worse.

1:
Use 30 gauge in those small coil heads;

If you use thick gauge like 28 you are more likely to end up getting shorting out on the sides or spire on top.
It can be done of course, but you have other hurdles to pass the learning curve.

2:
Don't twist or compress the cotton much. You want the wick to be soft and fuzzy like a soft sponge, not a piece of cloth;

I use 32/34 gauge kanthal wire and anywhere from 4-10 wraps depending on what I'm trying to build (Evod/Protank single coil), Vivi nova single coil. Just experiment with different wrapping techniques, try wrapping more and less wraps on different size items like micro screwdrivers, safety pins, etc until you find what you like! Practise makes perfect and there's no "exact" way to making a coil. Most people make coils based on their personal preference. My favourite for a Evod/ Protank is 32 gauge kanthal with. 6-8 wraps around a safety pin. I've done as much as 10 wraps with 34 gauge.
