If you actually LOOK, the PT3 has a different top piece(design change)
Likely the inner tube is shorter to fit a longer Coil head to accommodate Stacked Dual coil(referencing wick bundles)
So, yes both esthetic and Mechanical Design changes.
Doubtful single coils will fit/work
Doubtful Dual coils will fit any other Kanger devices.

Either this is yet another one, or difference is that you can fill it from the top, and unlike the Unitank, it's still pyrex glass.

The heads of the PT3 look longer than the single coil ones, though.

Kanger rules ... there's little reason to doubt that. I just bought the Protank 2 after vaping the first Protank for a while and was glad to find that I could use the T3S coils with my T3, Evod, and both Protanks. Now, there's a dual coil version that stands alone.

I've only vaped dual coils in the Smoktech carto tank. I found the flavor genuine but didn't like the tank sliding up and down if you didn't clean the end caps carefully when you filled it. I didn't feel comfortable sliding it into my pants pocket. No one wants nic juice absorbed into the skin through wet fabric.

The Protank 3 may be the solution to the above problem. Yeah, I'll have to buy one. The juice flow rate isn't that big an issue. I vape a lot of Dekang and Hangsen that sells for $10.99 to $13.99 for a 50ml to 60ml bottle.

Somewhere out there
The dual coil iClear 16 seems to give me more flavor, vapor, heat, but dare I say it's too much. I actually prefer my single coil Vision 2.0.

Yes, the iClear 16 dual coil has a noticeable increase in vapor and flavor, which I like, and heat, which I'm less interested in.

Hopefully the dual coil heads will fit the II.

It doesn't look like they will be interchangeable, The part where the wicks come out looks taller on the 3.

You should be able to get more vape with a duel coil, IF you have s strong strong battery. NOW realize that you will use MORE liquid also with a dual coil because you are using TWO coils instead of one.

The iclear 16 tank sure empties out quickly. I didn't notice the same with the dual coil carto I tried, I will stick with single coil cartos, I didn't feel the manufacturing precision was there to get a dual coil working properly inside the small space they have to work with. But somehow iclear managed to pull it off. I don't think I'd ever attempt to rebuild one of those heads, which likely will also be rather difficult with the Kanger design.

darn, its still ugly...

love the II, i think ill stick with that.

I really like the shape of the top cap on the II, the 3 is a step backwards aesthetically. I don't think it will look that nice with the non-metal drip tips I prefer to use.

If that is the case, Kanger just shot themselves in the foot. A big part of the reason I and others I know use Kanger products is because the heads are interchangeable. If they make a new head that doesn't fit the rest of their line, this PT3 will land with a thud...

I think there are a lot of people here who will buy anything Kanger puts out. I think it will be another hot product at least initially. I will wait for the reviews to come out, I don't feel the need to be an early adopter now that I have some other devices working well.

Kanger's definitely built a strong brand. Even now, there are better performing clearo's at better prices, but people keep going back to the PT.
What better performing clearo's are there at better prices that are GLASS ?

I was just hoping they would come out with a protank XL
Kanger didn't....but check out the HyperTank. It's 5ml (a bit wider and taller), glass with an outer casing - looks similar to an Evod, uses PT heads and is cheaper. This one is on my short list to try out.

Bigger tank, but I haven't seen any replacement tanks listed in case you break one. Personally I like the Kanger ProTank Mini 2 as it has a great look to it and 1.5 ml lasts me all day.

The Smok Aro performs far better IMO.

Sorry I didn't see the thread.
This one is dual coil. I only have Protank 1's, just bought one a few days ago and it does have that bar going across the bottom inside. Which my older ones do not.

Yep, they updated the PT1. The reason they updated it, is because the older PT1 used glue, which came apart when using certain e-liquids (such as cinnamon, etc).

The new PT1, just like the PT2, doesn't have any glue.

Speaking of which, I need a new PT1, since mine IS falling apart from cinnamon :(

What is this Madden, Call of Duty? New releases constantly? I think it is a bad move.

Actually, the fact that so many vape products get updated, and new ones released all the time has both PROS, and CONS.

Cons:

-Different devices means different coils sometimes, which makes it harder for vape vendors to have all the various stuff in stock

- so many vape products can be confusing

Pros:

- the more vape products that get released, the more variety we have, and therefore the more options

- the more options we have, eventually allows the best products to be sold the most, and eventually those products which sell like crazy end up becoming somewhat of a 'standard' in the vape community. This is a GREAT thing.....because it sort of allows US, the CONSUMER, to choose what the vaping standards are.

- with so many vape products coming out, and so many companies competing (and with the industry growing at an exponential rate) , the more it causes companies to try and improve their products - which ultimately benefits us :)
