Savoir-Faire is everywhere!
That's a big tank! To paraphrase Roy Scheider, "We're gonna need a bigger bat!"

I'm ordering this bad boy, Innokin HyperTank Bronze.

Yeah, I've got one of those coming, too. In copper, as well as black chrome.

I'm going to retire all my other tanks (protanks included) as soon as they're empty. Maybe sooner...lol

I bought a new protank 2 a few weeks ago and loved it. Then, it broke. Found that the part I needed to be replaced wasn't replaceable so I chucked it in the garbage can and bought a Davide by Anyvapes. That has to be the best vaping item I have ever bought and to me is hands down better than the protank line. Don't get me wrong the protank is a great tank but after comparing the 2 side by side I can't get over how much nicer the Davide is built.

Also recoiling those dual coil heads doesn't look like fun at all. I'll just stick to my Davide & single coils :)

AnyVape just came out with a new Aspire BDC line which includes the Davide. I have one. It uses a proprietary dual coil system BUT they've engineered it so that you can remove the coil and two other pieces and have the same standard, single, kanger coil clearo that they had before.
I think AnyVape went after Kanger's crown and got it. Now Kanger is rushing to play catch up buy throwing out another version of the ProTank. I just wish they would have done what AnyVape did and make it so you could switch it from a dual coil to a single coil.

So glad they went with a new number (Protank III) vs a rev change (remember CE2s? My god was it difficult to figure out what you were buying.).

I'm just getting into the bottom coils and loving them. I've always been kinda up in the air about dual coils, however. I remember when dual coil cartos came out they were awesome, but only at high voltages. Running a 1.5ohm DCC in a tank at 6v was an insane vape back in 2012. Now... meh. Maybe I'm just getting older, or over the novelty of vaping, but a nice, smooth, and consistent vape is what I really want, not head blasting vapor production.

I just got my first Hypertank yesterday. It's very tall and heavy but solid. As soon as I tested it I realized that I will likely never use another Protank again. It's THAT much better a delivery system. Huge vapor and flavor and it uses the same heads as a Protank.

It's all one piece, metal encased pyrex, but it's half the price of the Protank. I haven't had a single burnt hit or gurgle since I started using it yesterday and I've been chain vaping. Also, the draw isn't airy at all.

It might be large and top heavy on an eGo type device but the performance is night and day from a Protank.

I'm going to be giving my Protanks away soon.

It may be half the price but I'd rather have a removable glass tank with o rings then a tank which is glued. The original PT 1 used glue and now the ProTanks and Min Protanks are glue free. Cleaning the glass tank looks to a issue as well.

One of the best features of the ProTank 2 is you can replace any part. Screw base, center stem, glass in the color you want, etc.

I agree single coil is enough as a duel coil reduces battery power, however there was no need to throw your ProTank 2 out. Finding replacement parts for the other look alikes is the problem.

I have a Protank and a Protank 2. I have only vaped one tank through the 2, though. I've spent a lot of time with a stainless Evod lately and it doesn't seem to have the gurgling problem when it gets low. If it does happen to gurgle, you can twist the corner of a paper towel and use it to rod out condensation in the tube through the mouthpiece. Gurgles don't return after you do that and the Evod vapes right down to the bottom cleanly.

I tried the same paper towel trick with the original Protank yesterday and it didn't work. I also blew out a spot about the size of a half dollar and could visibly see the level in the tank drop. It still gurgled. Filling it up is the only cure. Apparently, when it gets low, air is introduced into the coil area.

Since they both use the T3S head (supposedly the universal head for all but the new PT3) you have to wonder why the original Protank has the persistent gurgling issue and the the Evod doesn't. In the Evod, it seems to be condensation running back down to the coil. Clear that and it vapes cleanly again.

I would guess it's and airflow/vacuum issue.

People talk about vacuum causing the gurgle but that doesn't make sense. If you look closely, every time you vape a tiny bubble rises into the tank afterwards. Equalization is taking place automatically. I guess it's like the old clearos that needed a small air space at the top to prevent juice from settling into the coil when the air space above was large enough to allow the juice to "stretch" it and flood the coil. Maybe the difference is in the narrow air space of the Evod vs the large diameter air space in the Protank.

Hmmm, New news to me... But looks like Kanger is trying to keep up with the Aspire line of BDC... Davide has had one out for sometime with the Aspire BDC in it... BDC = Bottom Dual Coil... Also noticed the Protank #1 is no longer on Kangers site... :(

Ooops, Just went back a page, I see that Screaming Eagle already touched base on this also.

I just ordered a BDC Davide 2 days ago... Hope it works like Aspire says it does, Have also watched Phil Busardo's review on this new Aspire BDC line... He gave it high reviews... Hope Kangers works good, lol now i need to order it!

Phil's vid is here
A PBusardo Review - The Aspire BDC - YouTube

I've been playing with two Aspires that I ordered through an ECF CoOp (BTW there is another one of these starting up now), one was a full size Davide, one was a full size glass Nova.
Phil doesn't cover these as I don't think they were available at the time he shot his video.
What I can say about them (at least the ones I recieved) is that the Davide has a fairly tight draw to it. Plus it tends to ride the edge of a dry hit if you don't draw hard enough on it. It does, however, work well at lower voltages such as standard eGo batteries once you get the draw down.
There are two versions of heads for these things. One has 4 holes (old version) the other has 2 holes (newer version). I have yet to try the 4 hole I recived with the Davide in the Davide to see if it clears the burning taste up. I'm thinking it should though. But I'm not real sure if AnyVape is going to keep the 4 hole heads.

As for the Nova? It's the polar opposite of the Davide. It need to run at higher voltages (4.8V is what I'm using) in order to keep from flooding.
It would benifit from a little bit better air flow as you can't put any kind of "beauty ring" under it to add some stabilization or it will start to gurgle. But I do have to say though, once you get this Nova dialed in, it will produce a ton of thick, rich, flavorful vapor.

Anyway, that's "MY" take on the Davide ( the ProTank killer), and the Nova. But as always YMMV.

Aaand, just to confuse matters, I find exactly the opposite.
My EVOD's gurgle when low and my ProTanks do not.
I mean, nothing dramatic - I don't even bother usually trying to do anything about it, but refill em. And run a pipecleaner through the tube when refilling. But I vape my PT1's all the way down with no gurgles or leaks on a pretty regular basis.

Have 3 Protank 2's As long as the coil is new no gurgle. Get a couple days on a coil and well, gurgle city. I carry qtips with me to keep them clean. I do like the tanks for the easy of filling them and having multiple flavors on hand... But I bought optimums dipper and OMG... the difference was so great that I went out and bought the Nimbus... Single coil @ 1.4 ohms with provari set to 4 - 4.4 volts rocks on it. There is so much difference in flavor I had to go back and retry juice that I had put aside cause I though flavor was lacking... it was not the juice, it was the protank 2!!!
