Kayfun 4 clone juice control and 510 pin issue

Was gonna post this in the Attack of the kayfun 4 clones thread but thought it might get buried.

So I just received my second EHPro Kv4. After ironing out some issues with the first one it works like a champ. So when I received this one I did the full breakdown and clean. All the way to the base. After I assembled it I noticed the juice control was kind of rough. Also if I have the 510 pin in all the way the juice control will not open and close. I have to loosen the 510 pin to use the jc. Anyone run across this issue with their Kv4 clone??? EHPro or other??? My other one does not have this issue.

If I remember right, I had this issue when I had my airflow adjustment screw backed out to much. After screwing it back in a little, I was able to tighten down the 510 pin, and all was good again.

Sounds like you have the machining error present in a few clones. It's mentioned a few times in the Clones thread. It affects my Tobeco.

#8 is seating too deep in #3.

The fix is to fit a shim in the square indent in #3. Consider 9 or 10 thou thickness of shim. Mine is 10 thou and it's not quite enough, but I'm not sure if 11 thou will still enable adequate seating, so haven't tried it.
If shimming alone does not do the job then you have to reduce the thickness of #7. That will complete the job. I keep meaning to do mine, but don't trust myself to do it competently.

Alternatively, it might be worth risking buying a replacement #3 and #8 though the clones thread has no feedback from people who have done this. There's quite a bit of feedback from people who have successfully shimmed and shaved.

Also, I was amazed at how much a little film of chapstick on the juice control deck o ring, helped it move up and down better. Just put a little on the end of a q tip and then onto the o ring. One of my new ones was tight like yours, right after initial washing, until I applied the chapstick. I believe a little ejuice will do the same to help it move smoother.
