It seems to me that 28ga is sorta like the "industry standard" for coil wrapping. A nice compromise between resistance and stiffness that allows amateurs and "pros" alike to build great coils. I have other gauges but very rarely use them.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

Back in the day of clearomizers, 32 ga was the norm. :)

Ordered SvoeMesto last night from Germany and Fedex is delivering tomorrow. Bronze is going to make me some coils and send me some of his famous Japanese cotton for wicks.

'Bout Friday look toward the southeast...

Thanks again! Not getting tired of saying thanks, but I do not want to be uncouth and not say thanks. I do not spend much time on forums so not saying thanks feels like I did not acknowledged, this is how new I am, hahaha.

I treat my forum conversations the same way I would if I was standing in front of you. Politeness is the lubricant that makes personal interactions enjoyable. The only problem with online vs in person is the lack of visual clues hence the emergence of emoticons which I try to use liberally as I am a sarcastic individual and really don't want to offend anyone with it so a quick Smiley face can clue them into the fact that I am kidding. ☺

I think that was to get them to fit in the small space available. Wrapped a few of those in my day too.

I have successfully micro coiled my Evod heads with 28AWG :)

For coils which seem to last for a long time there seems to be lots of talk about gauge, wraps, diameter, length apart from each other, heating them, pushing them together, etc. Holy cow what did I get myself into? Then there is the cotton and how much to use, what type of cotton. Then you had to talk about nano?? Will I need a toolbox for my Kayfun?

Naaaa... just use your 2-iron and your 3-iron to press the coils together.

Oh, and wrap the coils on what's left of the shaft of the club that you wrapped around the tree.

And for MattB, :D

2 and 3 irons are no longer in the bag. Replaced them with hybrids which are so much easier to hit. Never wrapped a club around a tree, but did throw a wedge in a pond. Fore!

LOL!!! Relax Ping. You don't need a tool box and a college degree to use a KFL. Don't even need to sleep at a Holiday Inn. I have a write up I will include with your KFL. It's simplified compared to all the noise you hear on this thread. We take it to the Nth degree here and much of it is above the pale. :)

I doubt a lot of golfers use a 3 iron anymore.. much less a 2 iron, just sayin'!,which actually makes them perfect for using as tools for the Kayfun. :D

3 iron goes in my bag only when playing Links style courses..

That being said, I haven't played any Golf in the last two years. It's amazing how 30+ rounds a year can drop down to nothing over a 5 year span after a child comes along. :(

I practically lived on a golf course when I was young and still played regularly until 14 years ago. I haven't played since. :)

I use both 2 and 3 irons. My last irons were bought about 8 yrs ago and when I asked for the 2 iron as well, the guy looked at me like I was from Mars and tried to sell me a hybrid.

I don't play as much as I used to so in the last few rounds, I think I pulled out my 2 iron twice.
