Mr. Bronze,

I finally got me a Provari P3 but I can't find a kayfun V4 connector anywhere.

I even tried to buy it on svoemesto.com but they don't sell to the US. They don't even have United States in their pull-down menu.
Try Intaste. They may be out but I thought they carried it. From what I've read the 510 connector works fine. Good luck.

I know that 510 works, but I wanted the hybrid.

Just found it in Canada

"All aboard Pinggolfer!" I love hearing "rail talk." My home was filled with it and railroad memorabilia, as my grandparents, aunts, uncles, step-father, etc. all worked for S.P. ( Southern Pacific) which became U.P. Thanks for stirring those memories:)

Say, I have a question. I have 2 KFL's (2nd batch). One makes contact with one of my Mini Provari 2.5 WHILE using Provari ring but is a no go with the ring on the other. The other KFL won't make contact with a ring on a Provari (both 2.5). These are high-end problems but a naked 2.5 but a bit ugly (IMHO). I am mostly using unregulated these days but would like to fix this. Any thoughts about what I can do with the KFL to help with the contact on the 510? Are there thinner insulators out there? Perhaps a different ring or an adjustment I can make to the ring? (Yes, I do weekly maintenance). i know that a 3 would solve all that, but am not in the market quite yet.

Thank you in advance.

If it is a metal ring....

A medium whack or two with a hammer on top of the flatwasher should open up the gap and allow the ring to sit lower on your Provari.

Yes I said All Aboard thousands of times. I started on the New York Central RR, which in time merged with the Pennsylvania RR and became Penn Central, then Conrail took over, and finally the state of NY took over all passenger service and became Metro-North Commuter Rail Road. Lots of stories to tell, but it wasn't a job for me as I enjoyed going to work.

I take my Kayfun and screwed it into my 2.5 without a beauty ring and it seems a bit wobbly. After reading your post I had to give it a try. Leave it to Bronze to come up with a fix.

Thanks Bronze and much appreciated! (Really appreciate the picture) Yes, it is the metal ring that Provape sells for KFLs. Let me see if I understand this. Is the goal to ever so slightly expand the "skirt" so that it will fit lower? Is that the "gap" you are referring to? So should the hammer be a tiny bit smaller in diameter than the skirt?

You could always try this method to close the gap...

It's worked brilliantly for all my 'funs!

I have not had this problem, but I have read about others that have, and have solved the problem with some of these. :)

I don't have a ProVape ring. I have some other ring made of stainless steel. It would not sit low enough on the Provari and it would keep the atty propped up too high to make contact (it was an intermittent problem). We're only talking thousandths of an inch here. So I wanted to widen out the bottom diameter of the ring. Hence the method in the photo. It worked for my ring. Can't be certain on the ProVape ring. I'm assuming it is stainless steel and a similar design as what I have.

I know that I'm really late to theparty on the authentic vs. clones argument, but I thought that I'd add my :2c:

I've had a Kayfun Lite + v2 from EHPro for several months and loved it, as well as picking one up for my brother as a gift. Neither have ever had any problems and have worked flawlessly (aside from having to clean the machining oil off of them).

Of course, I want to support the company that put all of the R&D into it, so I purchased an authentic from inTaste (thanks for the tip on that Bronze!).

InTaste was great: prices, customer service, etc.

However, the authentic was awful!

1. I got a burnt hit every other hit
2. One of the screws on the deck would not remain raised (I'd unscrew it, turn around, and it would be all of the way back in again like there were no threads)
3. Needed primed repeatedly (which led to constant flooding) to stop the burnt hits which kept it in a constant state of flooding since it needed to be done every other vape

I tried multiple rebuilds, rewicks, etc. and nothing worked. Obviously, I'm not a newbie to the Kayfun since I've had the clone for so long without any problems (and neither has the one that I got for my brother), so I think that I just got a lemon on the authentic.

Again, inTaste's customer service was great, so I don't blame them. I don't even blame SvoeMesto (any product will have a few that don't function correctly, or will have problems).

However, at the price point, I'll just stick with my EHPro clone.

My one wish? That I could get the chess-piece drip tip from the 5 Pawns Edition!

I looked at the Provari beauty ring and to my eyes it seems there is no way of keeping that ring in place. The Kayfun sure doesn't look good on the 2.5 and it does have a wobble to it. Might be I didn't tighten down more. The Kayfun is a perfect match to the P3 of course.

The P2.5's and older were designed when most toppers were the smaller clearos and carto tanks. Then we saw the influx of all these 22 - 23mm attys and the P2's became dinosaurs.

Not to take away from Provape's sales, but try these:

They seem to have a better fit with Kayfuns...at least in my experience.
Also available in brass.

Ebriel, will inTaste exchange it? Which screw? The one holding the wire down...the connection screw?

The CS agent that I spoke with is actually going to do go one better than exchanging it because I was so "Nice, polite, and thorough in explaining my problem." (something that they don't usually do - PM me if you want details, as I don't want the representative to get in trouble)

It was one of the screws on the deck that hold the wire down. The connection was fine... although I might be completely wrong here as to terminology.

My Provari ring fits nicely. No play in it. I think either remedy will work. I think I'll try the filing first as the KFL will also sit flush on another mod I have if I am successful. Fingers crossed...

Hmmm...on second thought perhaps I'll try one of these Tatroe caps. Made in USA too.

Good news Ebriel. Sometimes it's just as simple as talking to the folks. Customer Service is so important. Will take a look at their site.

Does your Kayfun fit and fire on your Provari 2.5 with the Provari beauty ring? The fit on P3 is perfect, which has me thinking about the next Provape sale and a second P3, which means another Kayfun lite. I have a mvp 2 so I had to try the Kayfun on it. What a difference between perfect wattage and not perfect wattage.
