I received a set of replacement Orings and screws with my kayfun.

Is there a standard replacement for he screws and Orings in case svöemesto discontinues the kayfun lite?

Also, should I buy more insulators and if so, how often or when do you need to change them?

Thanks in advance

I've owned my oldest Kayfun Lite (the original) since the summer of 2013 and I have never had to replace a screw, oring, or insulator. It gets used every day. Owned my second KFL (a Plus) for more than a year and have not replaced any part on it either.

I'm on tobacco road too (North Carolina). Most all the tobacco fields are gone...replaced with cotton and soybean. The government makes it impossible to make a living growing tobacco.

Not here for much longer. We're prepping for a move to South Florida.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

Lots of places carry replacement parts. Not necessarily made by SvoëMesto but, they fit. Heck even Fasttech has them,so no worries you'll be able to keep it running.

When I moved here in 1998, anything that wasn't covered with trees was a tobacco field. Beautiful white flowers I might add. But those days are long gone.

I never knew a tobacco plant bloomed. The only pictures of tobacco I saw was plants hanging upside down.

On a different note I dry burned my coil and put in a new wick. I believe the whistle is from the air screw as it didn't whistle at first until I tightened the draw a bit then noticed the whistle.

While apart all cleaned out and added mineral oil on all threads. I'm impressed with how perfect all the threading is on the Kayfun, worth every dollar. The only part I may need to replace is the filler screw as I have a tendency to lose small screws.

How is it wicking Ping? This is your first big test. :)

I passed my first test. Dry burning the coils went great as did putting in the new wick. I used your chimney method and it worked fine. Seems easy that way. Primed cotton, pushed it down in the base, put it together, filled and vaped. I have my daughter-in-law cutting the other pieces of cotton into wicks for me.

Save a couple pads in case you use a larger diameter coil at some point. And be careful not to make them to small (or large). Is she stripping the thin compressed layers on both sides first? Very happy it is wicking for you. Kind of a relief because not all people can get that wick right the first time.

Good to see you helping Ping, I know I didn't get it right for quite a while, but you helped me a lot. I trust he will though as he uses pings while I am a lowly mizuno golfer.

Yes, she pulled off the compressed layers on each side. It went great, just had to make sure I had the cotton tight enough to fit through the coil. Since the coil was in place and you supplied me with precut wicks it was a easy build. No leaking, no gurgles, and some air bubbles allowing liquid into the deck.

Great! Sometimes after 5 - 10 pulls you'll start to get dry hits. That's because the coil is burning the juice you primed it with. When that runs out it will go dry on you because the wicks are not wicking properly. That's when you have to drain the tank and go back in and monkey with the build. Truthfully, that has NEVER happened to me (except when I did it on purpose to experiment) but it is a common issue with many. Dry hits occur for two main reasons. 1) Not using enough cotton, and 2) the wick ends not reaching the deck.

Are you getting a little crackling when you hit the fire button?

I lost my fill screw under the dishwasher the other night. Thankfully I had bought a rebuild kit and it had a replacement that fit. Not an exact match but it works.

You can also get dry hits when chain vaping if your wick is a little slow on the uptake. If that's the case just cover the air hole with your fingertip and give it just a little pull. When you stop dragging on it you should see the bubble coming from the juice channels. Just be careful or you can flood the heck out of it. This works if you didn't leave enough air bubble in the tank as well, do it a few times as needed and the bubble will get bigger until it reaches a point where it feeds well again.

Good advice, Matt. Also, any wicking problems will be accentuated with high VG content. Ping is using a 50/50 blend so he's probably in a wicking-safe zone.

Hi. Got my K Pico from Cloud 9. Incredibly fast shipping! Am having an issue with it and thought I would post here before bothering Cloud 9. The threads are pretty rough on the chimney (I'm used to the buttery smooth ones on my Svo KFL's.). I cleaned off the threads of the pico. I was finally able to screw the pico chimney down (with some effort-unscrewing, re-screwing) but there is a tiny gap that I cant seem to get passed. And then there is the subsequent leaking which I assume is a result of the teeny tiny gap.
Anybody experience rough threads on these? What might I be missing. I've got to run but will be back this evening to check (am not ignoring your wisdom)
