Meh, I chose to stay away from this "black edition", too worried about the more than likely crappy finish flaking off into my efluid. It's also obviously a Tobecco, as all their KFL clones have the same layout in the box.

Can you explain how stainless steel is going to flake off?

Mine came in today. Disassembled, soap and water, dried and reassembled. Machining quality and appearance are good. An impressive collection of extra grommets and screws included!! Pos and neg screws are tiny though! Microcoil at 1.7 ohms, cotton wick on a Provari. vaping quite well for a new device (14nic, 60/40 juice, unflavored). Will be going through the forum threads again to see if I can find tweaks/improvements. Well worth fifty bucks, especially compared to my ProTank 2 (~$25.00) which is sitting in my emergency box!!

I received my KFL Black Edition today, disassembled it, cleaned it, put in back together without any issues..... and works AWESOME !!!!

Amazing Flavor, I built a 1.6 ohm coil using "Ready X Wick"......... Did I say the flavor blows me out of the water !!!!! It's the best $50.00 I've invested in a clone and I mean ANY auto dripping clone out there....... Well worth the investment...... I purchased one of the black russians off ebay, and was told by the seller they were manufactured by j-stream.
Hey, I thought they looked familiar! I've got two from j-stream arriving maybe today. In transit anyways. They're $19 each buying from j-stream directly.

Received mine yesterday - perfect threading and no stripped screws thank god - 1.0 micro 28 gauge and the pos/neg screws are annoying and will be replaced soon by me as someone else said above me. Haven't had any wicking issues - I set up my deck just like the instructions (google kayfun lite pdf) I have the wick touching the deck and then making a 90 degree turn along the side of the coil deck . Also search navy nest (youtube ) setup and wicking issues will be a thing of the past

Got mine today. Worked with it for a few hours.

I have an ehpro kfl+ and a hcigar 3.1 to compare to.

The ehpro is a little better made as far as materials go, and finished a bit nicer, but the black is certainly an updated revision.

The airflow is better than the ehpro because the external hole is slightly larger and the center pin has an enlarged hole at the top.

Design is closer on the black to the hcigar. The black has a better top o-ring design, as well as an o-ring on where the chimney threads to the uhh other part of the chimney.

Threads are noticeably better on the ehpro and the hcigar than the black. They aren't bad though.

Parts interchange better on the hcigar and ehpro. Certainly a looser fit on the black. No leaks though.

The screws for the coil on the hcigar and the black, which is to say, awful. They're like.. Ball headed, so they absolutely suck to try and tighten kanthal to. I replaced them with the ehpro spares, which are flat on the bottom.

Comes with way more spare parts than the ehpro or hcigar.

Juice channels are much much shallower on the black. No way around it, they're like half the depth of the ehpro and the hcigar. I don't know if this is a big deal or not. I've had a hell of a time getting either one of them to wick properly. Loads of dry hits. I cannot blame this on the parts, as everyone else seems to have no issues.

All things considered, would you guys consider this model to be superior to the EHPro Kayfun Lite Plus variant? I'm currently at odds on which one to order ATM.

I just got my tank in mail yesterday. Built my first coil in it this morning. I freaking love this thing! Yeah mine does whistle but I could honestly care less. My only complaint as of right now with it, is how small the screws are on the block. It took me a couple times to get everything tightened down. The threads aren't butter smoother but they are pretty dang smooth. I would highly recommend this to anyone and I am planning on picking up another eventually.

Check your airholes to make sure they are clear. Might need to get some leftover metal out of them.
Check your 510 center pin - make sure the airhole in the pin lines up with the airhole in the base.

can you please explain what you mean? The draw on mine is SUPER tight

I'm glad you're happy with yours! They seem a little inconsistent, my screws are great and my unit does not whistle. Mine would be awesome if the threads were a little smoother and the airflow was better(smoother).

Got mine in a few days ago. Cleaned, setup with a 1.3 micro coil and cotton wick. Man this thing went together easy (except for those crappy post screw, took 3-4 tries to get the 28 kanthal to stay), but everything else was slick. Tried adjusting the air control via the bottom hex screw, but found that even though I like a tight draw, every adjustment seemed way too tight (and whistled like mad) I eventually just removed the hex screw and luckily that turned out to be the perfect draw for me and no whistle.

Filled it with 12mg El Kamino and worried that it was going to kill me on the first draw due to my recent beginners experience with RDAs. Didn't happen. This was a smooth vape that in my limited experience is perfect. Not too hot, nice vapor and a really good taste. Not even close to the vapor my RDA puts out, but perfect for just picking up and vaping.

I'm definitely picking up another Kayfun or Russian clone. This design is just what I've been looking for. I'm about half way through my first tank and have never had a dry hit, and so far it hasn't flooded on me either. It seems to be a very nice set it and forget it vape setup.

Received mine Thursday afternoon, soaked and washed out every piece and air hole.
Fit and finish on mine is about flawless. It has a perfect look alike finish and blending in look on my Magneto.
took a couple of tries to land 28g. kanthal under the tiny screw heads, just had to wrap around and squeeze it around with my tweezers tighter before tightening the screws down.
I did a .9 ohm micro around a 5/64 drill bit and used some sterile cotton balls. I loaded the tank, easy to fill w/ 50/50 blend of my own mix.
Proceeded to inhale a very full flavored vape after about the 6th draw. (1st few break in hits were a little rough on the throat) This thing is producing a vape very close to my Igo drippers. Not as much plume, but flavor is outstanding. Air draw for me is just about perfect, maybe a tad tight w/ the screw still in but backed all the way down to the deck. I switched out the drip tip to one that matches the look of this setup, it has a slightly bigger hole through it also which helps loosen the draw. Never heard a whistle as some people commented on. I can tend to chain vape and have not come close to getting a dry hit yet. It seems I got the cotton packed and the right length perfect on the first try. "lucky me" This thing is hitting hard, the juice is exploding, like eating a bowl of rice crispies.
As Tony the Tiger would say... It's GRRREEEAAATTTTTT!!
